GEOFF DUNSTONE is a proud supporter of
the East Fremantle Sharks. He says the club, its
players, and its members, have been dudded.

IN these torrid times,
it might seem trivial
to be writing about
local football, however
footy on a weekend is an
escape from the realities
and trials of the world.
Shark Park has been an
icon in East Fremantle for
many years and has now
undergone an extensive
redevelopment;

Memorabilia

We understand that not having the opportunity to display our memorabilia has been a contentious issue. We are working on innovative ways to showcase our memorabilia and, in the medium term, developing areas dedicated to celebrating our rich history and tradition.

John Ipsen and Jon Stagg will be overseeing the important Finance, Audit & Risk committee. Additionally, Darren Gaspar has been appointed to oversee Precinct & Infrastructure in a newly created position, highlighting our commitment to enhancing our facilities and resources.

Newly elected member Anthony Micale will lead Football Operations on behalf of the board, with support from Con Tripi for the Midwest, Rob Young, Adam Drake-Brockman and Jon Stagg.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Len Hitchen, a true legend of the East Fremantle Football Club. Len’s unwavering dedication to the community spanned decades, from his time as Team Manager of Rossmoyne JFC, where he guided the 15s, 16s, and 17s teams in the mid-70s, to his leadership roles at East Fremantle, Fremantle Football Club and Applecross Football Club.

Len was inducted as a West Australian Football Commission Life Member in 2008 for all his service to football at grassroots level through to his contribution at AFL level. His service and love for the game will never be forgotten, and this Life Membership is WA football’s highest honour, reflecting Len’s immense contribution.

Yep very sad to hear of Hitchen's passing....a loyal EF servant, who presided over a successful period during the 90's for EF, where 3 flags were won, and a fourth went begging at the death v SF....ohhh Scotty Spalding.....what were you thinking??

Calling All Past Players, Officials, Staff and Supporters of the 1965, 1985 and relatives or friends of the 1925 Premiership Teams.

We are reaching out to locate and connect with past players, officials and staff from the 1965 and 1985 Premiership East Fremantle sides (who is NOT a current member). If you or anyone you know was involved in these historic teams, we would love for you to get in touch with Bob Uittenbroek at the club 0412 729600. We are planning reunions to celebrate these remarkable achievements and would love to hear any stories, share memorabilia, or discuss the upcoming events.

A reunion for the 1965 & 1985 Premierships will be held on 26th April 2025, at our home game against Subiaco.

Additionally, we are calling on family members or supporters with memorabilia, photos, stories, or relatives who were part of the 1925 Premiership to help celebrate this anniversary at its upcoming reunion. In particular, we are looking for a team photo.

Three exciting reunions to celebrate, with the highlight being the 100th anniversary of the 1925 Premiership.

There is a Regan and a McCann in Saturdays Futures team. Id guess Regan would be a relative at least
Also a Mourish and a couple of Wilson's too. EF futures won by 3 goals, kept SF goalless in 2 quarters....good start to the season....tall ruck in Edward's @ 196cm at only 16.....couple more cm to grow one would think.

Good work boys! Interesting to see if Edwards will choose basketball or AFL!

I guess if the young fella gets picked for the State 16's footy carnival, and does well, one can only hope footy will be his first choice. EF have a couple of potential young talls in their junior ranks in Sander, Ramsay and Edward's to hopefully develop. All 3 are athletic, and good below their knees for talls.

Coming into the season with
their rebuild, the Bulldogs look
forward to the round 8 derby
against long-time rivals, East
Fremantle’s Sharks.
It’s the “best rivalry in Western
Australia for 125 years”, says Van
Der Wielen, and helps keep the
team on their toes.
The Bulldogs have the upper
hand, winning 8 out of 10 of the
previous derby’s but losing the
most recent.
East Freo hope to capitalise on
this, with CEO Adrian Bromage
confident of a win because it’s
scheduled to be a Shark’s home
game - even if played on the
Bulldogs’ own Fremantle Oval
because East’s home ground still
isn’t finished.
