I'll go ya mate, dont think that I wont!!!

Yeah get on the Surf and Turf or Fillet Mignon, dont even need a steak knife. In Between bites, look up above the bar and see my photo smiling down on top of you, what else would you want? haha

Apart from Clarendon being about 50kms from me I now have another reason not to go ;):D

Hahaha patronage at the Clarry experienced record lows, and yes every time I go in I see your sexy mug ;)

And sometimes even in person!
I am guest DJ on a tuesday night too, just give me your 1 dollar coin and I will play some awesome music from The Angels to Chisel and to ACDC and, well thats about it. We are hoping for the new Meatloaf EP shortly.

One of the best restaurant meals I have had in ages is at La Tombola on Unley rd. Have eaten there 3 or 4 times now and is always excellent.

Tony also knows his wines and is a great host.

As for cafe's...Cafe Polazzo at Norwood has always been very good.

Not a big Thai eater but the guys at work swear by Pi Rai Thai at the city end of Unley Road.

Personally...hans me a bloody good cut of steak cooked properly !!!

Have also heard good reports on Louissianna Tavern opened in Elizabeth.

Yes....I do get about ;)

Went to Primo Salisbury, meal was fine, white wine was given without a chiller and a dirty glass
your probably lucky you weren't just given the goon bag instead... :D

I am not a real fussy eater...but I have found the Cafe Primo's aren't a patch on most other cafe's. I would much prefer an independant than go somewhere that is over franchised and therefore the margins cut to the bone.

If money is no object(i.e. someone else is shouting) you can't go past Alphutte on Pulteney St, it has a great wine selection first class food and service and isn't a huge restaurant so you can hear what others on your table are talking about, it's very popular so you must book. I can also endorse an earlier post re Skillogalee in the Clare Valley, if you're up that way it's a must see.

Here are some stars of the game...

Chicken Parmigiana: Gilbert Street Hotel, Adelaide
Yiros: Savvas Yiros, Malvern
Pizza: Papa Mia's Wood Oven Pizza, Colonel Light Gardens
Steak: Daniel O'Connell Hotel, Nth Adelaide

Alphutte is pretty good yeah. Urban Bistro has decent, different food, but is quite pricey. I dont mind it though. Awesome breakfast.

Cant beat the Daniel O'Connell for a parmy.

Will have to check them out myself!

For Vietnamese I LOVE Vietnam. 73 Addison Rd in Pennington. Out in the bronx but damn its good. The make your own Cold Rolls, the BBQ Quail and the hot pots are to die for. Will definately have to check out Viet Village.

My favourite place at the moment, is Cianti Classico on Hutt St. Its an old favourite. I love my Italian and they do it superbly. They have a fantastic wine list, their staff are close to the most knowledgable ive come across and are friendly and they do wonderful food. Their pasta is excellent.

For more special evenings I like Auge. Been there a couple of times and although it hits the pocket a bit, its definately worth it.

If anyones into wine and going to wineries then D'arenberg is a well known favourite...but also check out Skillagalee in the Clare Valley. A lovely family owned winery where the wife is also head chef. Very nice meals. Have a sip of their Riesling whilst sitting outside over looking the contoured vineyard. Great stuff!
Lol.

I used to work there. I'm guessin' that's why it was great.

Throw in the $9 movie ticket for purchasing a main meal. Good night out for $25 bucks or so.

Ive been to numerous Primo's the North side of town (TTP, Munno Para, Mawson Lakes, Salisbury, Rundle STreet), and am yet to have a bad meal. Only thing that shits me is when they put the bloody chips underneath my piece of meat!!!! I like to eat my meat with no extra side taste (apart from the sauces/gravy), as do many people I have dined there with.

One of the many gorgeous chicks that work at TTP Primo, gave everyone at my table a good look (not purporsely :() down her tank top bending over to pick up a serviette...I swear we saw all the way to her belly!

The best seafood I have had is Scampi's at Glenelg. I had a seafood platter there once and everything was cooked perfectly and the quality was superb.

But by far and away my favorite would have to be the Pink Pig on O'Connell st in North Adelaide. There specialty is the ribs and i guarantee you wont be disappointed.

Pink Pigs ribs were good. Dont order the steak though. We went there in a group of 5 once, two of us ordered steaks, one rare, one medium...they both came out resembling as well done a steak as ive ever seen. Id hate to see what their well done steaks are like.

Ruby Raja - Great Indian in Golden Grove.
Star of Siam - Gouger Street... amazing Thai.
Strand Cafe - Glenelg - Amazing pastas (bias because family own it!) :D

Had great hamburgers and shashlicks at the Blue & White in O'Connell Steet.

The Oxford for a great meal in the same precinct.

Gauchos and Stanleys in Gouger Street.

Good taste - they're all good. That Blue and White Cafe has been there forever, but it does a mean steak sanger as well and really good fish and chips.

Gauchos do superb steak as does the Cork and Cleaver at Glenunga.

If you can get someone else to pay the bill go the garlic prawns there for an entree and rib eye fillet steak for the main.

Nothing better than a good seafood and the best seafood restaurant in Sammys down at the Marina. :thumbsu:

Don't mind "The Blanc" on Hutt St either. Great seefood grill there :thumbsu:

The best seafood I have had is Scampi's at Glenelg. I had a seafood platter there once and everything was cooked perfectly and the quality was superb.

I'm with you on the seafood Stiffy - absolutely love it.

All those places that you and Dogga have mentioned are good - but you just can't beat Pauls on the Parade at Norwood for superb seafood at a reasonable price.

My favourite restaurant!! :)
