What a terrible shame...
I was lucky enough to meet Mr Charlton many years ago, and actually play a game with him at the Mordialloc Hotel. Needless to say he let me pot one ball, then he cleaned up the rest. He was a brilliant entertainer and such a gentleman.
He will be sadly missed.

Died at the age of 75 after complications from surgery.

Will think of him with fondness. Those old enough to remember Pot Black will remember him as a true professional and wonderful exponent of the game.
