Where are these hard questions Eddie promised?

Asking Scully what his mother says to him over Sunday dinner wouldn't be quite a question I would want to know the answer of.

i quite liked it. we've been crying out for an analytical, non-sensationalist show for years. now it looks like we might have it.

the only criticism i had was when he started to thank, i think sheeds, for coming on "the foo... for coming in tonight."

:D

I thought it was pretty good.

McGuire works best when he has an autocue to read from and hasno distractions from other 'hosts' stting next to him...so it looks like it will work.

The tweet read out by Ed about Jarrah's grandmother being 'intelligent' was pathetic though.

The poor woman couldn't put two words together and Ed asked her the same question 3 times...'how important is footy to Liam?"

Get rid of that stupid watermark in bright white spoiling a stunning HD picture looks just out of place and its damn annoying

i thought it was good and it's great that eddie is back doing a footy show.

the footy show has been terrible ever since he left it

Watching that pretty much shows why the Footy Show Sucks Now

So anyone who doesn't speak English is unintelligent?

Not automatically, no. ;)

I like Eddie, but sometimes I struggle to handle him in high doses. Most likely the show's quality will improve over time, until then though, I'll stick to 'On the Couch' for my main source of 'intelligent' AFL talk on the telly.

I think he wants it to be the 'Four Corners' or 'Sunday' of the footy media world, and it would be great if it could be, however Eddie's presidency can only compromise that lofty ambition. He was attcked quite viciously this morning on SEN about the Liam Jurrah story, despite his piece not questioning at all Mebourne's actions and the piece being rather soft. Imagine the vitriol he would receive if he did actually probe into areas that some club officials would prefer not be explored.

It's just not feasible.

I really hope by 'On the Couch' you really mean 'Paul Roos'.

360 was the first time i'd heard the patrick smith interview from SEN.

patrick smith is a grumpy old man who is rapidly fading into irrelevance.

but bugger me if mcguire didn't sound like a petulant child - "well i am the president of the collingwood footy club so get over it."

no, justify yourself eddie - tell us why you did the right thing in taking an unsanctioned interview as a club president, or admit that you did the wrong thing.

it feels like a timewarp. one show, and eddie is already failing to deal with his conflict of interest.

the comparison with andrew krakour is apt. as would similar comparisons with heath shaw or alan didak be. can you imagine how much eddie would blow up about it if they went on 3aw giving unsanctioned interviews?

i can, because we've seen eddie's purple face before.
