Eddie and the Pies purposely playing this up as much as possible to distract from recent racism allegations. Kinda pathetic, but not unexpected.
I don’t expect much from the main board in general but this is one of the most ******ed takes I’ve ever seen in my life.

And then also saying Steele meant to walk to the toilet but walked outdoors instead by accident :$
Why even say that, it just opens the door for more ridicule.
I'm stunned a player who can't recall much from the night has a clear recollection he got up from the couch and accidentally walked out the front door when he meant to go to the toilet. Surely if you had that level of clarity you turn around and walk back in the front door.

Eddie's job is to defend him 😂
Slamming him is up to nuffies like you on Twitter and every single newspaper radio and talkback show.

No.

Eddies job is to defend Collingwood !!!!

Risking the AFL season ending because his Vice Captain gets absolutely sh**faced, breaching the restrictions 4 times at the worst possible time is not really something I would have thought Eddie should be defending.

Actually I would have thought in the best interest of Collingwood - and the AFL - that Eddies job would be to hold his Vice Captain accountable for his actions.

Risking the AFL season....I think closed borders might have done that.

I'm somewhat surprised by the poll results that people think 4 weeks or 5+ weeks is the correct punishment, putting it on par or worse than Lachie Hunter breaking quarantine, crashing his car, and running away.

I would've also liked Eddie to say more about how this is very disappointing from Steele though.

Maybe given the choice, people would like hunter to get more....doesn't mean that Sidey doesn't deserve 4.
It is 4 times worse that wines did imo.

Yeah because after that public statement he definitely wouldn't have talked to him at all in private
**** people are dumb.

Lets gets this in the proper perspective.

The AFL is trying to save a mega million dollar sporting franchise that employs 1000’s.

They are fighting tooth and nail to appease Doctors across the land and State Ministers, who are rightly being very protective of their own states. They are making the AFL jump through hoops. Victorians have made it worse with the massive upturn in Covid cases each day.

Fwit 1 and Fwit 2 have wanted a drink and decided to put the Entire AFL system into peril with all all those jobs into jeopardy. Who the @#$%&! Do these selfish pricks think they are.

They both deserve 6 to 10 Weeks to be honest.

But until now, most of the other states were willing to work with the AFL - to allow them exemptions to quarantine periods etc. These exemptions have been made due to the AFL instigating the Covid protocols and team bubble principles ... effectively saying 'as long as the players stay away from the general public in the way that you have agreed, we will grant exemptions.

Multiple players breaching those rules to date - and at this point in time with Vic numbers having a bit of a spike, breaking the rules - has a significant effect on the desire for the Premiers of those states to want to grant exceptions to the incoming teams.

The Premiers of the various states are getting a lot of pressure from the media and the non-football public to cancel these exemptions ... so yes, stupdity on the part of 1 person could indeed risk the entire competition.

Seems a bit harsh, Steele was just doing what thousands of us do every night of the week according to Ed. Right?

You do know the spike and consequential lockdown and treatment of Victoria as the pariah started before Steele went on for his drink session.

Unless it changes the story is -
Had drinks with his mate who suffered a seas

Who cares about Twitter? Not me.

Your defence of Eddie is almost as bad as Eddie’s defence of Sidebottom.
i say almost, because at least Eddie wasn’t drunk.
