Seen burnside play yesterday there was a couple of good players but can't see them being to competitive. Always hard as a start up club attracting players and tall players they just don't have. Lost to sanctuary lakes by 5 goals but should have been a lot more.

Will get a good idea of where they are at next weekend as they are vying Coburg on sat. Interesting to see if they will run out the game better then Coburg as I believe they haven't had a praccy yet

Guessing a Jacana person told you that. They looked very ordinary compared to Mooney valley and east Kiel or. Catton must be on big coin to leave diggers for Jacana. Anyone know why jacanas best player didn't play? (Kid that won league bnf) was really looking forward to seeing him running around
Indeed, you've got to keep in mind that Jacana is coming from a lot further back than those other sides that you've listed.

3 horse race the 2 KEILORS and Coburg I reckon Moonee 4th Rox 5th jac 6th burn 7th sun 8th I think KO vs Cob Final.
East Keilor looked good for their run around on Saturday. Kids were good and a couple new recruits were good as we'll.
But something that really gets me shitty and angry is when not one opposition player goes into the club rooms after the game. Tells you a lot about the culture of that club and I can tell you none of my sons would be playing at a club with a culture like that. Shame Shame Shame

Couldn't agree more Bluejet. I hope they get a few wins and earn some respect. They have done it tough for so long, I hope they surprise many and get back to the winning club they used to be.

Who did EK play and which of the two clubs didn't go in after the game for a social drink?

The game was played at Ek so I doubt they ignored their own club. They were playing Hurstbridge who were way out of town for the game so they must have left to beat the traffic.

I didn't suggest that they ignored their own club. For those who weren't their, NorthWest blog didn't state who was the home side, where they played or who they played against. still no excuse for Hurstbridge, even 45 minutes in rooms would have been the right thing to do

Tbh I was wondering the same thing myself.

Traffic!!! Not the excuse I was expecting. Most times not all can go into to rooms for drink and these days I don't necessarily mean alcoholic drink but I still expect most including coaches to go into rooms even if it is for a short time. That's part of what makes local footy. I know the East Keilor coach would have made sure most of his players go into the club rooms to socialise if the roles were reversed, but he did come from a club previously that had a good cultures in the years he was there.

haven't posted for a little while now and can I say that this forum is dead. Are teams holding things close to there chest or are there no standout recruits to speak of?

I went and watched both MV & EK on the weekend as both games were pretty close which was great. MV looked somewhat ok in patches from what I saw, looked a little different from last year few faces I didn't recognise, but obviously a faces that were noticeable absentee's. Parkside are going to be a top 2-3 team this year in Div 2 WRFL so a tough opposition was on hand for MV but they held there own for parts, but were hurt in defence. To me they didn't look the team they did last year, and may be caught out if 1 or 2 teams stand out this year, but I wont count them out of finals just yet ;)

EK on the other hand looked pretty good, skills were very scrappy from both sides but first hit out, what can we expect. EK looked solid across the ground and the team they played, Hurstbridge I think, looked big and solid. finished up about a 8 goal margin which honestly from the second half I saw could have been more, EK looking good at this stage and will get better with 2 more praccy games coming up.

Lot of people expecting jacana to improve dramatically... They've only picked up 5 or 6 players.... And they are coming from a hell of a long way back I still think they have a long way to catch up to the better sides in the division

will improve but not enough
