The rules are in this document http://www.aflvic.com.au/fileadmin/user_upload/Documents/DOCS/Development_Files/AFL_VIC_Player-Official_De-Registration_Policy.pdf

This is the clause the EDFL should be drawn to.

a) Players

i)Senior players shall be automatically be de-registered and not allowed further registeration with the same or another league if the player has accumulated a combined total of 16 weeks suspension(or greater) in a senior career (including AFL career)

seems EDFL need to do some checking or did they know ??
Rules are Rules

Well the AFL need to do some checking. Looking at these rules, Shane Crawford should not have been allowed to play in the Grand Fianl last year due to the fact he was suspended for 17 games throughout the years.

The blokes not good for the comp if he comes into it and king hits players who are given a job to run with him and stop his influence in a game.
He was a serial offender in the AFL (a la Paul Williams) and shows he still has bad habits.
EX AFL players coming back to the EDFL are good for the competition only if they bring something positive to it. Holland showed his hand early and it should be stopped now.

I think you will find AFL players are more unfortunate, remember any misdemeanor is scrutinised by trial by video, then the results from minor bumps can be given 4 to 6 weeks, adds up pretty quick. In most local comps a bump that makes contact with the head will be a free kick not likely a report especially a 6 week suspension. Different rule interpretations can change the perception of a lot of suspensions.

Best post in a long time:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Recent local to a new area and with an absence of AFL this afternoon wandered down to watch Cragieburn V Keilor.

Good game, Cragieburn lost by 4 points after hitting the front with about 90 seconds left. Decent standard, some real good players in the top half for each side depth fell away pretty quickly at the bottom end though, particularly for Craigieburn who relied on their top few players. Still got to learn who's who.

Scotty Gibson from glenroy had his permit revoked a couple of years for cracking the magic mark 16 the spinless knuckleheads who run the edfl wont do a thing unless the QCs from Abers and Greenvale tell them too, might be interesting come finals if Marby V Greenvale, EDFL fence sitting as usual,
Yeah and the rat dog **** was lucky it wasn't pursued legally

Keilor didnt win today...... Craigieburn lost the game!
They had the game sewed up until Keilor won the final centre clearance...
A good show by Craigieburns young fella's however to lose the game in the last 2 minutes was very disapointing!
Hopefully the boys will put on a decent show against the top side Greenvale next weekend......

Marby are starting to play well as a side with the inclusion of marc bullen they seem to go from strength to strength. It was always going to take a while for the side to gel and get to know how each other plays but they seem to be hitting there straps and getting better every week. Discuss?

Douttas (16.18-114) bent Abers (4.17-41) over today....

Hope you had a dozen players out abers cause that as a bad game at home.:thumbsdown: Carey off the ground before halftime not to return, hammy i guess.
Not much to tell you about the game just one way traffic.

Were Abers a bit stiff going by the score as it would seem they have just kicked badly?????????
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Abers played like individuals, having selfish shots on goal, not going in for the hard ball and paying out on umpires. Funny when 2 Abers players Jacobs and Lucas are paying out on a goal umpire telling him what position to be after abers missed a goal, while Douttas kicked 2 goals on the rebound. But i must say credit to Abers in the second 1/2 half, just must have pulled their shorts up at 1/2 time. Good coaching me thinks.....Also what is Mckee getting paid? Must be a bit for his 5 possesions today and still getting named in the best? Doesnt like it hard does he?

Big Faraj back for Greenvale yesterday kicking 3

I hear he played a staring role turning it on in the last quarter kicking 2 goals

So much for him not playing at Greenvale

Bullen didn't do a hell of a lot but Marby played very well. They have a good first 20 players but not much in twos so if they stay injury free they will push for top two.

Do not agree Git. Keilor gained the lead early in the second half and stayed in front until the last few minutes. Keilor had at least four set shots for goal, from 20-30 metres, in the early and middle stages of the last quarter. If any of those had been true.......Game Over.
Craigieburn can only blame their own tactics, flooding into the Keilor forward 50 after they, Craigieburn, hit the front, did not leave any body in their own forward line to contest. Logically, where was the only place the ball could go? Into the Keilor forward line!
You make it sound as if Craigieburn led all day and were pipped at the post, and that is not correct.

You absolute spoon. Why wouldnt you flood after you kick a goal with less than a minute to go when your playing the reigning premiers?

Heard the same dribble last year about taking time to gel as a team. If they are not successful this year they will go and buy another 10 - 15 blokes and you'll hear it all over again.

Just an observation hero, and if they are not successful this year and they go and buy more players next year good on them.I don't know and more importantly don't care who you follow but it is clear from your post that your club doesn't spend money on players so good on you champ

Nearly at the halfway mark of the year.

Biggest suprise - Doutta
" " disappoints - Craigieburn and Abers

Others thoughts?

Did you see the result? Craigieburn lost! You at least keep a couple in attack to have the opportunity to lock it in your own forward line and run down the clock. Flooding into the Keilor forward line did not help one iota.

If your reply is going to resort to name calling don't bother. An intelligent arguement, that, I am willing to have.
