That rumour about the money is doing the rounds heard it from another DVFL source today. Hope is it not true.

Its not just the coach at Strathmore you can add the names Walker and Carroll to the list both have plenty of money but unfortunately no idea about football. Doubt if either played the game after juniors (10s,12s,14s). Oak Parks player payments have never been high. Just ask the players what the reward for winning the premiership was? Paycuts!

Anway for the future of the clubs ( they can`t help themselves ) and the league why isn`t a salary cap introduced? As we may end up the way of the Eastern Football League.

Salary cap is impossible to police under the present system. Unless all payments are made taxable and clubs subjected to the same compliance and audit rules of the AFL, just cannot work.
A workable option is the points system. Each team is allowed 44 points on the ground each match day.
Four points = Ex AFL without any previous connection to club.
Three points = Ex VFL/SANFL/WAFL without previous connection to club.
Two points = From similar league without prior connection to club.
One point = From the club, either ex junior or returning from AFL/VFL etc.
A few more points of detail involved, but that is the gist.

I dont know about some of your price quotes here litening especially with the B-Grade, but i think your A-Grade is quite right at having Strathmore at evens.

With the B-Grade, i cant see how you have both Roxburgh and Sydenham at the same proce although i think neither of them have a genuion chance.
Marby would have to go in favourites, followed closely behind by West Coburg, due to all the pre-season talk and recruits that have been going around but some of the others i dont agree with.

Having Taylors Lakes and Westmeadows at 5/1 and 6/1 respectively??
Having Tullamarine at 33/1? Im sure you could find a lot of people that would be happy to put some cash on that one, as they were also rated no chance a couple of years back when they won the flag and i would rate them a better chance than both Taylors Lakes and Westmeadows especially with Kenny Ingreham leaving Westy.

If i were to put my cash on according to your market, i probably wouldnt touch the A-Grade comp (maybe a little on Avondale Heights) but with the B-Grade comp id put some money on Tullamarine at 33/1 and a bit on AirportWest also

That MURPHY rumour mate is absolute complete garbage. As soon as he rang the Heidelberg President and told him straight after his decision they main thing he wanted to do is meet him to give the money back. He was given money, but never signed and insisted to drive and meet the President of Heidelberg as soon as he could to pay this. The Prez told him that he will catch up with him as soon as he could and made it like it was no fuss.
So, crush that rumor. Also, it was not $6K. I am a million% sure. So, you must have some dud sources. Hopefully, you don't go to Russia to look for them.
Deaghan is a gun and would alk into any District A Grade side.

Matt, to your credit? everyones good, great or a gun! Deagans had his chances in A grade EDFL with Oak Park and Aberfeldie and A grade WRFL with St.Albans. He is your typical dime a dozen suburban footballer.

couldn't see Lobby or big Tim leave Sunbury. have heard that Chalmers & McCartney will move from Oakers to Sunbury this year. - the mores have gone out big time and recruited some quality such as Paul Barnard (brother of Jeremy) Tim Harvey ex Box Hill, Myles Quinn WAFL ruckman ex Claremont to name a few. they will definately be hard to toss again this year. Abers look as though they have the services of big Kemp from the Valleys and possibly Paul Hudson cousin of Minton-Connell may play a handful of games. Dean Brown has moved back to Bundoora after being overlooked for senior coaching role. Shaun Smith ex Kanga/Demon will play at East Keilor. Justin Murphy ex bomber/blue/cat is rumoured he may line up at Marby Park. Bicer, Boukoulas from greenvale may be heading to diamond valley league. haven't heard anything from Keilor, Doutta or the heights - does anyone know of any movements at keilor or doutta ?

Little man, have to agree with you 100% about the Mills comment. Never seen a guy get easier kicks in a game than Mills except maybe that Lugg guy. Please, Ben Pettit on the improve. I think the first thing Pettit needs to improve is his speech! Never heard anyone speak so slowly and sound so dopey. Takes him 30minutes to finish a sentence.

Ryan Crawford, who played a fair bit for Douttas last year is at Willi again and is flying. Won't play for Douttas this year.

Terry Knight has reportedly headed to Southport QAFL.

Williamstown has exercised its right on Heath Lawrys contract which will see him stuck at Pt. Gellibrand for another year. Doutta had him.

Damian Lock is coaching in the Heathcote League.

Brendon Hollow will more than likely play there, he just loves Ramsay too much.

also got some more good news for jacana boys... another 5 u18s from last yr's comp chosen to play at jacana aged between 18 and just turned 20. club is full of youth!

get a glimpse of the new boys on wednesday night and make em feel comfortable.

more good news is jacana have required the services of bigman Ferros after a stint at coburg. Chose jacana ahead of coburg due to uni committments. also have recruited a ruckman from dvfl who played for macleod.

Baukoulas is a proven and good player when he wants to be and Bicer is a gun!!!! Mabe swapping spit in the showers was the way they got success and wasnt the only thing they swapped.......lol
