The issue with Fly using that phrase “he’s well above the VFL level” is the exact same thing he said about Macrae…and then has proceeded to barely pick him and when he does it’s mostly as sub or limited game time.

He’s got to start trusting the younger guys with more responsibilities

Being above the level isn’t enough.

They also need fitness.

And they need to be better than the incumbents in the positions they can play.

And their skillset needs to fit within the gameplan.

He is an AFL player baring injury. Tall, hard at it, great tank and a good decision maker. A little rough with a few rushed kicks when he has had a little more time, but he is at the level and only 20.

To be fair Melbourne probably don't care to much and are missing Petracca and Oliver in the centre square but he has really, really looked like a player.

He is a big lad and we know there a slow burn.

He will end up being an astute pick-up.
