Nothing will change.

It's not like all of a sudden people are going to embrace a more Libertarian mindset on a grand scale.

Things like this and Conroy's efforts will only hasten the process

The Economist concludes libertarianism is growing especially among Britain’s young, politically engaged minority, and views “this trend among the politically active as the visible tip of an iceberg of passive libertarian sentiment among the disengaged.”

Media cycle has now been hijacked with the Americans say they have evidence the Syrians used sarin gas against american allies.

Interesting.

However it doesn't really say if they are of the of the Green or Purple Libertarian political compass types.

Are they Anarchy style Libertarians or of the Classical Libertarian set?

the magazine is the lens. ;)

The Economist dont "do" anarchist libertarian.

Good point!

Croydon riots was the Green sided Libertarians at work(except for the actual looters).

I've mentioned 'South Park libertarianism' a few times over the years.

Interesting contrast in that article between young Britons and young Americans, with the former thinking the government is too big and the latter thinking the government too small.

Wikileaks interests have smuggled him out of Hong Kong.

On his way to Iceland?

latest mail is ecuador.

but that might just be a smokescreen. a wikileaks supporter was prepared to lend his private jet for a rendezvous to reykjavik

so even tho it has got noise about an asylum app to ecuador, my money is iceland.

Hong Kong is still relatively politically independent of China. It has its own constitution which enshrines a great deal of individual and economic freedom.

It's pretty much it, at least on the face of it. China's been trying to infiltrate their government for years while trying to pass all sorts of ridiculous censorship laws (similar to what China has now, in terms of internet, radio and newspaper censorship) and changing school educational curriculums to incorporate lots of Chinese communism brainwashing, but everytime the Hong Kong people made massive, massive protests out in the streets based on the notion of free speech and freedom of expression and they couldn't pass it in the House, even though the parties (no doubt colluding with the chinese government) had the majority. If you can halt the political machine that is China then you must have some balls.

The Hong Kong people went out in force in support of Snowden and were against him getting deported back to the US when they requested it with the warrant. Surely the US can't in their right mind think HK would let them have a bloke that revealed a shitload of dirt on them doing all these unconstitutional privacy invading rubbish, when they've been defying their "motherland" for years for exactly the same things. Even if that isn't an issue, China would never for a second hand him over

dont believe the public refrain. it is misinformation to throw you off the scent. he will be in reykjavik by now. perhaps siding up to some of those norske honeys that assange went thru.

not that i offer any omniscience. cia and nsa will know where he will be going.

*and i could be wrong, as usual.

dont buy the ecuador asylum application meself.

Looks like he will get asylum in a Venezuela or Nicaragua, here's hoping.

The trick will be to leave Russia in a plane that does not fly through any U.S-allied nation's airspace.

http://rt.com/news/bolivian-president-plane-snowden-577/

...(Bolivian President Evo) Morales' jet was forced into landing in Vienna on Wednesday after several EU countries barred the plane from entering their airspace over suspicions that whistleblower Edward Snowden was potentially aboard.

Austrian authorities searched Morales’ plane for Edward Snowden, but found no stowaways on board, Austria’s deputy chancellor has said. The plane will now carry on its journey to the Canary Islands where it will refuel before flying to La Paz.

Snowden had requested asylum from Bolivia, which has yet to answer his request. The fugitive whistleblower has also petitioned Austria but was rejected. Reports indicated the plane was hindered in navigating Western Europe as France and Portugal would not allow the La Paz-bound plane to enter their airspace...
