If that is acceptable to you I despair for the future of your club and maybe the AFL.

It doesn't sound like any lesson has been learned at all.
You realise you're saying that you were only going to accept the tribunals outcome if it was the one you wanted? There's a process in place and it was followed. Anyone who doesn't like it just has to suck it up as the Essendon supporters would have if it had gone the other way

"The players were put in a position were there health and careers were put at risk in pursuit of in field success" - afl players association

Clearly even the players association think that Essendon did something terribly wrong and only a finding of " not enough evidence " gets them off the hook

Well until wada steps in

So Club got punished, Hird got punished, players not punished.

Yep, that sounds about the right outcome.
It is hard to disagree, but also hard to fully agree.

My view has changed a bit. IN the end I don't think anybody involved - players included - have anything to be proud of.

Congratulations Essendon, you truly dodged a bullet. The moral of this story is ..hide everything, that way they cant prove anything, have a great shredder, if anyone dares tell the truth pay them huge monies so they remain silent and it goes on.....

I have this sick feeling that they will find Dank guilty but somehow the players are cleared? AFL you have come out on top !!
Only the AFL could manage that, but they did fine Melbourne 500k for something they claim doesn't exist only to give it back to them in an interest free non repayable loan:drunk:

Strangely enough I disagree with this. While we've had to do some serious soul searching, this saga has made us a stronger and more united club.

I think you were probably stronger before Hird became coach. Certainly more respected.

I'm shocked - any respect I had left for the afl and it's integrity department has now gone out the window.
So tell me once more, what was it that the EFC self reported on
While my opinion is worthless, I will always think of the essendon football club as cheats - no amount of media spin will change that
You believed the media first time around, why stop being a sheep now?

We have a lot of built up frustration and some users are probably taking it out on the wrong people.

Trust me mate you have no idea what it's been like for the last couple of years and the shit we have copped.

I don't have any idea. Wait, I do, because nigh-on every Essendon supporter in this thread has been slagging Collingwood as drug cheats.

Well, Collingwood did not inject Thomas and Keeffe with a prohibited or banned substance and Keeffe and Thomas have not played in any official AFL match whilst testing positive for a prohibited or banned substance thus denigrating our (once) great game.

This is the best day in Australian sport the club has finally been vindicated and so justice has prevailed
