Eliminator Thread - Part 2

This is the first week I am being tempted to trade to stay in the eliminator. I have a shit opponent so hopefully I can get over the line without using any

Amazingly got up in the eliminator last week! Going into the last game I was 88 points behind with Swan captain v Lockyer and Sidebottom. Won by 9 points :)

This weeks opponent is very similar to mine, comes down to these matchups:

Me v Him

Fisher v Lockyer (Lockyer is starting to annoy me now...)
Mackie v Enright
Adcock v Cheney/Broughton

Murphy v Selwood
Bartel v Ablett (captains no doubt)
Kornes v Vince
Swan v Bruce
Rich v Muston

McIntosh v Kruezer

Chapman v Gia

Note: Obviously he may trade... Pretty evenly matched I think.

Don't know how this bloke i'm playing has stayed in so long. Ranked 30,000 + and has Presti in his team. Should be an easy win

Far out I think my Eliminator is pretty much finished the guy I'm versing brought a guy who brought in Riewoldt and Ablett this week probably for the sole purpose of beating me as he got rid of his midpricers McGlynn and Coughlan... They were pretty silly trades especially considering he's preferring to start like 4 rookies now, but each to their own I guess...

His team was:
D: Goddard, Lockyer, Adcock, Hodge, Grimes, Broughton, Grima (C.Cornes/Drummond)
M: Swan, Selwood, Mitchell, K.Cornes, Coughlan, Rich (Muston/Beams)
R: Cox, Sandilands (Spencer/Jacobs)
F: SJ, Pavlich, Deledio, Franklin, Higgins, McGlynn, Sidebottom (Warren/Ballantyne)

MY PLAYERS:
S.Fisher, Houlihan, Cheney, Mackie, Gibbs, Bartel, Corey, McIntosh, Skipworth, Gian, Didak, Doughnut
VS
HIS PLAYERS:
Lockyer, Adcock, Hodge ???, Broughton, Grima, Selwood, Mitchell, Rich, SJ, Roo, Sidebottom

Who do you guys reckon will win?

My eliminator match could certainly go either way this round.

Based on the year-to-date averages of the starting 22 for each team I'll lose by 14.

Only 7 players in common, and with his midfield including all of A, B and C (and Swan btw) there'll be lots hanging on the games next weekend.

HIM VS ME

Firrito vs Fisher
Ryder vs Goddard
Hill vs Mundy
Rooke vs Adcock
Bock vs 0
Rich vs Muston
Vince vs Gibbs
Bateman vs Cornes
Judd vs Hasleby
Ablett vs Bartel
Ablett vs Bartel
Tippett vs Kreuzer
Skipworth vs Didak
Fev vs Sidebottom
Nahas vs Higgins
Franklin vs Gia
SJ vs Riewoldt

Gonna be tough

HIS PLAYERS:
Hodge, Broughton, Lockyer, Adcock, Grima, J.Selwood, Rich, Mitchell, Sandilands, SJ and Sidebottom

Not liking the looks of things thanks to poor scores all from Houlihan, S.Fisher and Gibbs, whilst managed to do a McGlynn to Roo trade, was an average of 88 from McGlynn not good enough for you Brad's??? I'm tempted to pull out the towel or find a white flag and wave it around...

my opponent has had a ripper start.

4/450

NDS, riewoldt, goddard and gilbert.

whilst i am on 2/190, with hayes and fishers scores.

gunna be a close one.

Kornes v Vince
Swan (c) v Bruce
Rich v Muston

McIntosh v Kruezer 71

Chapman v Gia

Pretty evenly matched I think.

Me out  how did some hack ranked outside the top 3000 score close to 2200?

It can be very frustrating, however i won in round 9 with 1656 (400 points below my average). The following week, i made 2 trades and those players performed well below their averages. In fact I would have been 50 points better off if i had kept one of the players I traded out. The rest of the team, however, lifted to give me 2152, a 500 point turn around!

Sometimes a team can just click (or completely fail to do so!)

could go either way this week

im 5/470

hes 5/463

captain doesn't play a factor as gazza is both of our captain.

Ryder v Hill
Scarlett v M.Clarke
Gilbert v Lockyer
Urquhart v Broughton
Bartel v Selwood
Black v Foley
Gibbs v Baker
Jolly v Mcintosh
Cox v Sandilands
Clark v Riewoldt
Tippett v Skipworth
J.Brown v Stevie J
Ballantyne v Deledio

reckon he has the edge with the forward line (on the right)

Me out  how did some hack ranked outside the top 3000 score close to 2200?
I know I drew somebody ranked 358th this week, although I'm 325th I had premium injureds in Embley/Drummond this week with my only cover being Petrenko and Cheney. Was pleasantly surprised by Houlihan scoring me 43 and S.Fisher putting together a lazy 55, literally.

What perhaps frustrates me the most is he does a ridiculous trade getting rid of Coughlan and McGlynn (averaging 88!!!) for Ablett (C) and Riewoldt who scored 124... 20 more than his average, whilst completely ignoring the more value premiums in Didak/Chapman, not good enough for you?.

Ablett was meant to be my advantage as his only other premium was Swan. I really do hope I beat the guy because not only will his eliminator be screwed so will his overall ranking because you can't just make stupid trades like that at this time of the year!

Oh well just hoping something crazy happens to him like 3 of his premiums in defence are late withdrawals as he has no cover either...

The guy I am playing has the following backline:

Grimes
Gilbee
Broughton
Hill
Goddard
Cheney
Taylor

Also has no Cox in the ruck department (I have him as captain!)

Only problem is he has Gazza as captain, could be the game breaker next sunday afternoon.

Hoping for some massive scores from the likes of Cox and Lids tonight to give me some breathing space. Would love to make it to the final 1000.

Lucky you, my opposition's backline is this:
D: Lockyer, Goddard, Adcock, Hodge, Grimes, Grima, Broughton (Drummond/C.Cornes)
Whereas mine is:
D: Goddard, S.Fisher, Mackie, Grimes, Cheney, Petrenko (Drummond/Embley)

I'm worried about the same thing. The person I'm playing hasn't got a great line-up apart from the centres, which are:

Ablett (c), Bartel, Hayes, Selwood, Gibbs, Goodes.

Nothing in my matchup at the moment, but at the moment it comes down to.

Enright v Lockyer
Newman v Gilbee
Ellis v Harding
Malceski v Ryder
Grimes v Hurn

Swan (c) v Ablett (c)
Cornes v Bartel
Boyd v Goodes
Muston v 68

Pavlich v J Riewoldt
Deledio v McGlynn
R Murphy v Mooney
B Johnson v Ziebell
Giansiracusa v Higgins

I've got cover everywhere but in the forwards. If Murphy's a late withdrawal (again), and Sidebottom's (who we both have) not named I'll be in a fair bit of trouble.
