Fall Out Boy

What do we all thing of Amityville's own Eminem?

Personally i think the man is a genius, capable of putting down phat rhymes and being able to freestyle with the best of them.

So what's the verdict?

Exactly mate, thats the idea, the more people talk the more records he sells.

"I am whatever you say i am, if i wasn't then why would i say i am?"
That's a quote from one of his songs, the bad boy image all comes about in order to make money.

wouldnt say i hate him...
dont mind him...

i'm listening to 'criminal' right now... hehe.. quite amusing stuff...
offensive in order to sell records..

did his mom actually release a single?

I have no real problems with Eminem, after a brief period of "who the **** is this ****er?".

The whole badass attitude thing is a calculated image designed to sell records. It is essentially a great act. I think he can't believe the big fuss over nothing. Likewise I also think he can't believe how all the dumb homeboy-wannabe kids believe what he says and buy his stuff ;-)

It's fairly entertaining and some of his material has a nice groove (but I wouldn't listen to it for hours on end.. would drive me MAD!)

One good thing I can say about Eminem... his sampling of Dido Armstrong's "Thank You" on his song "stan" got me onto Dido's work, for which I'm thankful ;-)

Jod23 is right on the money with his standard of rapping. He is nothing compared to all the best guys, like Ice T, Public Enemy, NWA etc (a Homerism.. Rap achieved its perfection in the late 80s/early 90s. everyone knows that!! ;-))

He is one of the most lyrically gifted rappers ever and the best thing is he is white. The way he acts and what he talks about in his songs is a gimmick, that is what a lot of people don't realise. He doesn't beleive what he says, he just says what other people are actually thinking and he makes a whole lot of money out of it. He is just having a good time. I suggest you hire "The Up in Smoke Tour" video and check him out. You will see how talented he is. For a white rapper to gain the respect of rappers such as Dr Dre and Snoop Dog, you have to realise there must be a damn good reason.

Are you serious? The words "rap" and "genius" NEVER belong in the same sentence. It's all garbage. I used to think it was fun to rhyme...when I was six years old.

As a musician it insults me to hear these talentless hacks use a computer to sample others' music, slap some juvenile lyrics over the top and subsequently call themselves "artists."

They do make a lot of cash. No accounting for taste.

I'd rather make just a few hundred extra bucks a month as a relatively unknown guitar slinger, than sell out by noodling with that rap scheize.

Self respect? Priceless.

Peace, Mooster -
