I have a few friends who are hardcore hip hop underground kids, who know almost everything about it...and after listening to the best stuff they produce, I can safely say 'hip hop is garbage'.

How many film theorists/academics have made a decent film? How many have ever made a film, full stop?

Your friends might very well have an encyclopaedic knowledge of hip-hop but they might have all the skills of Joel Turner, which is to say sweet FA.

Hilltop Hoods, The Herd, TZU, Funkoars, After Hours etc are a sample of some fine Aussie hip-hop, which is on the cusp of something very big.

Within the next few years, the Australian public will embrace it in much the same way English and French audiences have. But with out everlasting cultural cringe, it may actually take a bit longer.

The other day I was playing my 15oz compilation and got "man what this crap..aussie hiphop is just sooo wrong" and then one of the other guys went and bought encore and as soon as he got back into the office the same people who dissed me about 15oz were begging for a copy of enemas new offering.

That just shows how pathetic Australians are about putting American or Uk music, regardless how crap it is, way before any Australian artist.

Support Australian HipHop..and dont throw this "their accent suck..aussie that is" at me b/c if they didnt rap in the aussie accent they would be shot down.

Eminem has run his race I am afraid. The Eminem Show was an OK album, but the rest is complete crap.

The only Eminem songs I like are Sing for The Moment and Lose Yourself.
