Fairly predictable, but accurate.

I liked:

Next big thing: Ed Barlow.

With the Swans able to maintain such a stable senior line-up in recent years, few youngsters have been able to grab a chance at senior level.

But as soon as Barlow came onto the ground in his debut against the Brisbane Lions in round 20, the elevated rookie looked right at home.

Quick, composed and with the ability to play a number of positions, coach Paul Roos looks to have a player not only ready to plug a hole should he need it but to perform capably next year and beyond.

What went right:


The Swans got to see more of a few younger players this season who had been starved of opportunities in other years, and the future doesn’t look as bad as some would wish to paint.

Tim Schmidt, Sean Dempster and Kieren Jack all look players in the making, while Nick Malceski went to a whole new level.
