This is no excuse.

We have gone backwards in comparison to clubs undergoing rebuilds and nobody around here gave their support to a 5-7 year rebuild in the first place.

Failure to inform us of this would be deceitfulness of the highest order.

They must step up now and the current standard is not good enough for the NMFC.

I potted you because you wanted Majak to replace both Hammer and Goldy.......it is a silly statement. You have the right to retract it
However I must admit I did post a suggestion that Majak could be included against WC eagles to work with one of Hammer or Goldy against Cox and Nic Nat. Obviously after the WC game majak goes back to Werribee to further his development.
Neither ruckman has dominated this season. Todd Goldstein is a shadow of his former self. The reason for that is Mr Life Lessons Brad Scott wanted to teach Goldstein to play full back and other such nonsense and it has backfired big time. Hamish McIntosh has battled manfully but since his achilles operations he moves around slowly and in this modern game you need guys with spring and agility in the ruck. Enter Majak Daw. So there is my reasoning. Calling it silly is a slur on my good name. However I'm pleased to read that you did post a suggestion that Majak be included against the West Coast Eagles. There is hope for you after all.

Rebuilding??? Since what?? End of 1999. PFFFF. Give me a break. North Melbourne's still making excuses. Thats the problem. Were a nice club with the wrong mentality who week by week are slowly getting closer to being at the start of the RE BUILDING again.

And were going to look like even worse front runners when we beat pathetic sides in the 3 of the next 4 games which is going to make the matter even more worrying than it already is IMHO.

We would be close to starting as underdogs against Port next week.

Shane Watsons role (defence) can be under no scrutiny whatsoever.

Yeah giving brad crap from the sidelines is a low act and supporters shouldn't do it. We do have a right to vent our anger however, the club more than ever has asked the members and supporters to dip into the pockets and we have a right to demand our players to work harder than they have been.

Are you serious?
What kind of rebuild doesn't take 5-7 years? You don't rebuild from where we were in 2009 in just 2-3 seasons. No-one can rebuild successfully in 3 seasons.
There's a name for a 3 season rebuild. It's called a top-up.
The previous coach specialized in them.
It's a shame that you didn't authorize a re-build because your footy club apparently has and I'm fairly sure they were quite transparent about it.
Bradshaw openly spruiked a 5 year plan from the moment Scott was appointed.
It sounded reasonable to me at the time. If he hadve said we'll be ready to challenge for the flag by 2011, I would have assumed that the he and everyone else saying this was an idiot.
Scott got a 3 year contract and I assumed he would be offered an extension in 2012 if the team was showing signs of moving in the right direction
The team was showing signs last year(finishing 9th after starting 2-9 due to injuries, a horrific early draw, a couple of errant kicks and some bad luck ) so he got his extension a bit early.
If North don't make the finals in 2012 Scott will be under real pressure because the media, the club and Scott himself have declared that there can be no excuses for this group now.
If North dont play finals in 2012, then Scott will need a very good season to save him in 2013 but I don't know if we should be calling the season after round 7.
I've seen enough this year already to believe that a finals berth is still very attainable.
I'm guessing you guys who are furious at the temerity of a club with 5-7 year plan, would have turfed Thompson from Geelong in 2003 before he could finish building the most dominant team of the era.
My expectations/hopes were to make the finals in 2012. Win a final in 2013.
Play in a Preliminary in 2014 and a GF in 2015.
Wait a minute ! That's a 6 year plan!

LOL SO i should change my signature week in week out??
Dont be silly son, ya gotta come back better than that!

LOL thanks..........Hammer is suspect for this week, my spider sense tells me Goldy will blossom against Pt Adel lesser lights to be honest it could of been the leagues best he plays against. I see Goldy needs to play 80% game time with breaks but that does warrant Hammer being in the side as well.
Yeah yeah we´re not going that road again. Majak´s time will come but not this year I feel.

Have to admit Tef, Im saddling up on kennys side on this one........We havent gone backwards but we havent developed as quick as Essendon, gulp.... Richmond. We have issues in the team we all know that and Im committed enough to point in the direction of the Ruck mess (Mr inappropriate take note) Goldy has to be supported by a player who can do 20% of the ruck duties.

Get Goldy back in form palming the pill back down our midfields throats and the rest will take care of itself. I think its as simple as that.

Be smart about it.......build up Hammer´s currency throughout the remaining season but come end of season make it quite clear that Goldy is No.1 and Hammer is on the outer looking for another home.
Mabon and Daw can step up next year playing as understudies but if Scott is going to do this right I think its the way to go.

We're not going to agree. I understand the situation perfectly and it is completely unacceptable.

The coach is responsible for the list and he is responsible for the lack of maturity in the midfield.

He is also responsible for the game plan and team selection.

Tef this is where youre wrong mate......where are these mature bodies that you want into the centre?? We dont have them.We should have had them in our squad years back when Laidley was in charge but he polyfilled up our squad with players that failed to kick on from other clubs.
I think he has done the right thing here in plucking out the best kids available to us at the time, pump games into them........players,officials from other clubs know we´re going in the right direction and maybe just maybe some of those free agents may want to come our way cause they see a flag in the not too distant future.
Brad Scott is a "modern day" Ray Kinsella.......Build it and they will come......Field of Dreams Tef . Hold the faith man.

Crocker?

we are regularly hearing the words rebuilding and decision making. I for one have no problem with a 5 year 6 or 7 year plan. What i find distastefulness is lack of siren to siren endeavour and courage. Chasing the player with the ball has nothing to do with age or game experience but everingthing to do with endeavour. What the team does when they havent got the ball is just as important as when we have the ball clearly visable in todays style of play. Win or lose mediocre efforts are not acceptable.

Of course we are still rebuilding !

But are we heading in the right direction ?

At the start of the year I thought we were top 8 material. I am sure a lot of posters did. Who thinks that now ?

We had a chance to go 4-3 yesterday. To start to get our season back on track.

But instead, we got smashed by a side that most likely will not take part in September.

- does 2 ruckman at Etihad work ?
- should liam anthony been dropped after squibbing on more than one occasion, against WCE.
- should Thomas be played every week, if he continually misses simple goals ?
- should Scott have moved Petrie during the game, when poor disposal and Lake was doing a good job on him.
- which of our "great young midfield" is responsible for going with Dalhaus ?
- what the f*** did Mullet and Pederson do wrong ? They will probably be back in the side this week ! Too late !

I could go on. But I wont bother. I am a member. I left a lunch early to be there and support my team yesterday. They embarrassed me.

F*** oath i have a right to ask questions !!!
well said!

Is he responsible for the kick-in tactics?

There are some legitimate queries with Brad.

But **** me, even Richmond supporters would be laughing at how premature some of the calls are in this thread. Our supporters are better than that.

I'd be throwing a padlock on it.

Don't worry HH, we've been armed with Fort Knox locks waiting for the venting to cease since Sunday night. The fact the OP'er may not be legit is enough to shut this one down, whether people have questions on Bon or not.
