Down to 9 men, injuries to 2 key players and Johnson having to come off for Dier in the first 55 minutes and Spurs still produced more chances than a Mourinho/Conte-led Spurs would have produced playing with 11 men for an entire 90 minutes.

Tottenham gave it their best shot and came away with one fewer point than they might have gotten had they parked 9 men in front of Vicario. No shame in Ange‘s tactics.

In terms of offside and the calls and lines you see regularly, yeah that's pretty far offside. If Disasi had got the header, I mean if my Aunt had balls she'd be my Uncle.

If the Dier offside is one of you "good" chances to score, I mean illegal goals arent really chances. It's a free kick to Chelsea. The Son chance was an ok chance which he missed. I dont remember any other chance outside of that one.

But people keep saying about how Spurs had a chance to equalise etc but then just never mention how Chelsea had about 10 chances to score. They should have scored about 8 goals but were horrendous in front of goal.

Yes was beginning to wonder how much of this is being tolerated, he’s been throwing out insults since the weekend. Too many personal insults littering this thread and the previous matchday ones I feel, very tiresome.

The self awareness from Jod is astounding.

When Liverpool went down to 10 men a couple weeks back they still played attacking football, through Salah, and was praised by Jod. Went down to 9 and they sat back and fell short with the last kick.

We spent 15 + minutes down by a goal and had a crack, and he's waffling on as if sitting back and accepting a 2-1 loss was the play to make.

Matip OG happens with 10 minutes to go and guarantee they'd have had a crack at scoring an equaliser too.

10 men is far different to 9 men. It's vastly different. 10 men you can still play, but with 9 it's kinda like shut up shop and hope for the best.

If the Matip goal happened 10 mins earlier, yeah I'm sure we would have had a crack too, but not in the way Spurs did which was suicidal.

Again im not saying Ange or Spurs are shit. All I'm saying is that the tactic to sit on the half way line with 9 men was dumb. You can still have a crack with 9 men but sit deeper and try to counter. Ange got it all wrong in the second half and that's ok, he's human, he's allowed to make mistakes. I'm sure he will learn from it.

I literally had to go and put the game on again and go to the 85th minute to remember. Yeah a good ball in but I dont think it's a big chance as he's just too far away from it. It's not like he got there with plenty of time and fluffed his lines, he was never really getting onto it.

The problem with that was Gusto giving away the FK for no reason. Dumb from him.

But that's how you should play with 9 men, find set piece situations etc.
