So I finally got around to watching The Pit on Binge/Foxtel and it is a ripper. A modern up take on ER.

It features Noah Whyle, aka Dr Carter.

It is a NEW character, but I cant help but think it should have been called 'Dr Carter'.

Anyway, have a look...the Pilot is great.
Cool, I’d seen it advertised on Foxtel and vaguely heard okay things, didn’t realise it was Wyle from the poster

I’m up to ER S4E1 on my rewatch, finished S3 sometime in Oct/Nov I think

It's so good.

How they handled the entire Dr Green storyline was just absolute perfection.

(And unusual, really enjoyed the non linear SL)

I recently looked into getting the complete series but $300* is a lot to spend (even if it's a complete series lol). Would rather buy it cheap digitally (Apple TV) but even $199 is too much... I shall await a sale.

I remember watching it back in the day but my interest waned part way through.... the last proper episode I watched was Anthony Edwards' final episode (and that was after I dipped out of the show for some time). Did tune in and out after that.

I know it's "weaker" but I followed a similar trajectory with Grey's Anatomy.... season 1 - 3 was GOLD, fell away during season 4...... and returned (briefly) for the season 5 finale... but haven't watched it since.

which was the nonlinear you refer to (just to jog my memory). Is this S4E1 or something in S3 (or even in The Pit?). Greene leaves off in S3 still struggling with the bathroom bashing he can’t recall and resisting help.

currently on iview (free) on Foxtel (temporarily I guess)

would be worth owning and revisiting every now and then, although can understand reluctance regarding the ‘complete’ series, you’d have to be a diehard to rewatch the complete set multiple times. If it is one of your top procedurals of the era, or one of your top medical procedurals, then worth an own, very comfort + very exciting.

These tv series I have on DVD: Love My way, sex and the city, Nip tuck, Six Feet Under, Dead like me, Misfits, Summer heights high, The Office, Fawlty Towers, Young Ones, Bottom, Freaks and Geeks, Extras, Frontline, The Late Show

Love my little tv collection

Yeah back in the day you just had to buy some of these blind on DVD to check them out and then you’d get hooked

I remember as a kid when an adored kids show was about to rerun id diligently tape it on video. Did that with a couple like Where’s Wally, Hey Arnold, Angry Beavers, Pokemon, Animals of Farthing Wood, etc. easier on ABC without commercial ad breaks where you’d off/on.

Oh they stuffed up many times apparently but they just kept going. You would never know..
after a few seasons of those long walk-and talk chaotic choreography takes I guess they’d developed the confidence to give it a crack, and a doc crew device would sort of assist that imperfect realism. Risky way to open your new season though, you’d want some delicious promo drama for the following ep as backup.

I’ll report back when I’ve seen it (currently on another show or two)

The live game of NFL on in the break room 😂

Imagine watching a drama and Geelong v Hawks is on lol
a quandary for Shell/Xtreme. To watch the tv drama I like or my footy team. Why not both at once!

imagine last moments of a thriller final and you are knee deep in emergency resuscitation or surgery at the time, oh the mind splitting drama

Its on ABC Entertainment (idk if this is a regional thing) on high rotation; I watched a S1 in September and then flicking through in late Nov they were into the later seasons.

Even the odd episode here and there stands the test of the time.
The theme song/opening credits.

One of the all time greats. Period

I tried so hard to watch the entire.. idk 15 seasons of ER. I just could not. Could not finish the last few it is woeful.
I just started season 9 this morning. 1-6 is incredible, 7-8 cracks start appearing. I enjoy it all the way through but for sure nothing beats the early years.

It’s one of my favourite shows of all time. I truly love it. The characters, storylines, music, acting, it’s all first class. It still holds up.
