I accept that but yeah we still have the 1984 and 1985 flag over them and for what it is worth Geelong should win it and as an Essendon supporter It shits me that we are not there but I'm sure our day for flag 17 will come. I'm only leaning to Hawthorn for Crawford otherwise I can't seprate them and know either way we will have 12 months of gloating and carry on and one other small thing my ex boss runs a shit company and he happens to be a Geelong supporter

Over 30! If I had my way Essendon would win the flag every year but I don't control these things.

I loath all other teams winning the flag but non more than Carlton and Sydney

Crawf would be very close to being my favourite non-essendon player, so I would take solace in that if the Hawks win. I just hope it's a good match... but I think the Cats will do it comfortably.

That said, as much as they were the mortal enemy in the 80's, looking back now I respect the great Hawthorn teams of that era more than anything else.

I went for Geelong last year for sentimental reasons, but now that they have a flag all bets are off.

That said, in my lifetime there are only 3 3-time Essendon Premiership Players (with Salmon unlucky not to be a 4th), and Bomber is one of them, so I am a lifetime fan of his.

My wifes parents follow Geelong. Considering 20 years ago i converted their daughter from a part time Geeling fan to a become a mad Essendon supporter who goes every week the least i can do is go for Geelong

I'm going for geelong as they have they've been the best team all year. Plus I couldn't handle watching arseholes like Bateman and Lewis get a medal.

Who are you supporting in the big one next Saturday? I'm split both ways, don't want Geelong to equal our 24-1 season but dislike Hawthorn as a club, a few of their players and most of their supporters.

Win the pre-season cup, don`t get absolutely smashed by a scrubber team like collingwood and then you may equal Essendon`s 2thou season

I am devastated to see that there is almost as much support for Hawthorn as Geelong in here. (I think outsiders coming into our board can vote. And hence the results could be skewed. Can anyone confirm that?).

I just hope the Hawkes get smashed by 100 odd points. They are the team I hate the most after Carlton.

I don't know how anyone could say they stood up for them selves, like the rest of the footy world was saying That's not standing up...it's a planned act of thuggery. The whole club should have been suspended from playing for the rest of the season. Their captain should have been banned for life.

Dermie should have been under investigation along with their coaching staffs.

I am just hoping Geelong will cream them on the day and make them look silly and ordinary.

Yes anyone can vote! my favorite part of the 1984 flag is they choked in the last term as Baker and co ran overthem and 1985 we owned them from start to finish!

Hawthorn will never have anything on us for a start that club has formed and folded three times and the fourth time barely survived but needed to go cap in hand to a State Government and to move away from its heartland.

While Essendon has existed since 1873 and has never abandon its heartland.

Last year Glenferrie Rd didn't show any evidence that an AFL team existed, this year they have done a good job with the decorations but deep down we know unlike Essendon! what connection does Hawthorn have with the suburb of Hawthorn.
