Well done to these 2 clubs hopefully they can raise alot of money for the fire stricken families.

Game has been moved from sat in darwin to fri in melbourne

Good effort, hopefully no matter who people support they will come down and raise as much money as possible to help these people. :thumbsu:

Well done by the AFL and the two clubs. A great initiative which I will happily be able to support. Was pondering earlier how I could help the unfortunate victims of the terrifying fires and this is a start. Will also be great to be able to watch the team after a long break.

Re: Essendon v Bulldogs game moved to Telstra dome

Awesome news!
Considering what has happened in order for us to watch our team live I'm not too sure if I would refer to it as 'Awesome News!'.

That said given what the game is about, I'll be there to support those in need and pay my respects to those who have passed away as I'm sure there will be some kind of tribute at the game.

that's great news! I hope some other games get the same idea from this.

The Australia vs NZ ODI tommorrow at the Adelaide Oval was announced yesterday as a charity game too.

Good to see the sporting community getting behind the victims.

Il'd like to see that ALL remaining games in rd 1 of the NAB cup are charity events for the bushfires !!!!!!!! God knows the victims could use it, and if we can have a special Tsunami Cricket game (which I wholeheartedly agreeded was a great event) then why not a rd of NAB cup games raising money for our own countrymen ???

Or how about a state of origin game, like last year, with the proceeds going to the bushfires ???

Ideas to help those in need through sport:

- Free football gear (footballs, shirts, goal posts etc) for all schools, clubs and community organisation effected by the devastation (residents, firefighters, red cross, salvos etc).

- Free tickets for all NAB cup games and H&A games for those effected.

- Black armbands for the entire NAB cup period.

- All funds from the NAB Grand Final donated to relief funds

Any other ideas guys?

The AFL should be able to donate a large amount of money as well as the above i think.
