On a side note Scatman Crothers from the Shining was the voice of Jazz in the G1 transformer cartoon and 1986 movie.

He was also in One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest. I think he might've been mates with Jack Nicholson.

Butcher for Polec
Talia for Docherty
Paine for Karnezis
First round pick for Longer

Wouldn't be unhappy with that.

Seriously doubt we would give up Butcher at this stage. I see Butcher and Polec in a simialr point of their careers. High draft picks, talented athletic kids that have shown really positive glimpses. Injury has killed their development (Butcher hasnt had a single preseason yet, as hasnt Polec I believe). Only difference is one is a mid, which we are fairly well stocked in, the other is a KPF which we dont have great depth in. Maybe not as in desperate a stage as you guys but make no mistake, we have limited options after Schulz.

Doubt Polec will be a PSD pick up. Both SA clubs would be very interested in him. Crows dont have any decent early picks (National draft) to barter with but they do have the earlier PSD pick over Port.

If the Crows are able to trade their way into a spot in the 2nd round earlier than Port, you might be get a slight bidding war.

Of course this all depends on whether Polec wants to leave.

I am up visiting the folks and was having lunch at Pearl in Logan Road today (hard life) and swear I saw Billy walk by, in the training kit and looking like he'd just done a workout ...... Any chance that is a good sign ..... I thought these guys were on holidays.

Not Billy, I'm sure he'll be the ruck for our reserves GF this weekend.

Hawks are circling longer, apparently he has requested for the lions to make a trade happen to get him back to vic

Was behind him getting sushi today, along with Paparone and Hayes. They've got the NEAFL GF this weekens, so a lot of these guys would still be training to a certain degree. Although on instagram he was setting up for a Harry Potter marathon!

I really don't want to see Billy leave. I could live with it if we were to somehow turn his departure into a quality KF but there are barely any out there and I just don't see us manufacturing a trade that returns one. Huge blow to our ruck division, unlikely to be a massive return on our investment and considering we saw two finals this week in which the superior ruck combo was one of the decisive factors in victory, could hurt us once again down the line.

It doesn't sound good re Longer, looks gone unfortunately.

On the plus side there seems plenty of interest in him so we may do alright out of the trade if it does happen.

Jay Clark may have turned a corner his getting a thing or two right recently.

The thing that shits me the most about the whole homesickness issue that befalls the precious ones; do these same guys actually spare a thought for their Tassie mates at the club with no fall back option to go home or should they just quit AFL footy altogether.

It is such a weak argument...fortunately for them they weren't like many Australian kids that do go off at 15-16 years of age to do 'apprenticeships' at English and European football clubs.

Bless their little souls that Brisbane is so far away from home.
