54 Brand,Elton LAC
11 Butler,Caron WAS
39 Iguodala,Andre PHI
21 Kidd,Jason DAL
67 Miller,Mike MEM
121 Chandler,Tyson NOR
76 Maggette,Corey LAC
86 Jefferson,Richard NJN

Strengths - No standout
Weaknesses – Blocks
Even across all categories with strongest categories being Rebounds assists and steals, Brand at full strength would probably remove the blocks weakness and put rebounding into the strengths category, every player contributes to rebounding
Best Pick - Butler at 18
Rank 6

Kenny
3 Bryant,Kobe LAL G
36 Gasol,Pau LAL F
52 Calderon,Jose TOR G
64 Odom,Lamar LAL F
62 Okur,Mehmet UTA C
14 Ginobili,Manu SAS G
72 Mcgrady,Tracy HOU G
110 OJ Mayo

Punt with Ginobli skews the figures somewhat but will obviously have a much stronger 2nd half than front half.
Kenny has decided he can do a better job with the LAL triangle offense than Phil Jackson and gone with multiskilled big men in Gasol and Odom playing alongside Kobe, but substituting Fisher for Calderon and Bynum for Okur. I can imagine only one person in the world happier than Kenny and that would be Mehmet left open firing 3’s at will.
Strengths Points/3’s/asst/FT%
Weaknesses Blocks/FG%
Kobe and McGrady are the main points scorers and I’ve given Mayo above average too - though none will be brilliant with FG%, 3’s are inflated by Ginobli’s contribution and Calderons assists total should hold up the total with Kobe and McGrady contributing a meaningful amount. Volume 80% free throw shooters hold up the average and would be a lot better if McGrady improves on last years 68%.
Best Pick – Okur at 5 is a handy 2nd C for this team.
Rank - 2

12 Smith,Josh ATL
16 Nash,Steve PHO
29 Johnson,Joe ATL
49 Anthony,Carmelo DEN
68 Howard,Josh DAL
88 Bogut,Andrew MIL
118 Deng,Luol CHI
122 Ford,T.j. TOR

Strengths – Assists
Weaknesses – Rebounds/Turnovers
Nash and Ford provide the only really decent assist minded 2 PG combo in the league giving a big strength in assists but providing also the biggest weakness combined with Melo and Smith in TO. Not a mile off the pace in Rebounds, only the TJ pick 8 pulling that down from mid table.
Best Pick – TJ Ford could easily be best 2nd tier PG in the league
Rank - 12

5 Baron Davis
7 Shawn Marion
31 Vince Carter
65 Brandon Roy
44 Andrei Kirilenko
104 Emeka Okafor
117 Al Horford
70 Zydrunas Ilgauskas

Strengths Rebounds/Steals/Blocks/Turnovers

Weaknesses FT%/Points

A big rebounding squad with the last 3 picks all capable of double figures alongside Marion, all those bar Horford are solid blockers with Kirilenko also stepping up, Davis and Carter are the only real turnover prone players and Davis and marion carry the steals.

Okafor is the third worst free throw killer in the league and there are only 2 recognised scorers on the squad with Roy being option 3.

Favourite pick - Potentially did well with both Carter and Marion, but I like the big Z with the 8th round pick, even if his production drops 10% he's still well worth this pick and with Joe Smith leaving he won't see less minutes.

Rank 3

6 Amare Stoudemire
15 Rashard Lewis
13 Chauncey Billups
41 Gerald Wallace
87 LaMarcus Aldridge
46 Brad Miller
58 Jason Terry
73 Leandro Barbosa

Strengths 3's/FG%/FT%

Weaknesses Rebounds/assists

4 good 3 point shooters who all shoot 45% plus from the field with Stoudemire single handedly pulling the FG% figure right up giving the unusual combination of 3's and FG%. Very solid FT% across the board bar Wallace.

Surprisingly last in rebounds with Stoudemire/Aldridge/Miller being brought down by 3 sub 3 per game rebounders. Billups is the only pass first PG.

Best Pick. Stoudemire for %'s. Billups in round 3 is guaranteed solid.

34 Williams,Deron UTA
30 Bosh,Chris TOR
37 Jamison,Antawn WAS
45 Bynum,Andrew LAL
69 Arenas,Gilbert WAS
60 Michael Beasley
84 Murphy,Troy IND
91 Hamilton,Richard DET

Strengths – Rebounds
Weaknesses – Points/steals
A fairly consistent squad across the board with the 3 categories above only just falling into the strength/weakness categories. Has 5 good rebounders including Beasley, but no real go to man on points though is only 7 points per game behind MightySaint who is in 5th place in points. If Arenas comes back strongly this will be a solid 2nd half of the year team.
Steals is the closest category across the board with the best teams averaging 1.25 steals per player and the bottom teams 1.0, ie 2 steals per game.
Favourite pick Murphy in the 7th round should be well worth the pick.
Rank 8

22 Garnett,Kevin BOS
18 Iverson,Allen DEN
25 Pierce,Paul BOS
79 Boozer,Carlos UTA
100 Biedrins,Andris GSW
102 Miller,Andre PHI
81 Harrington,Al GSW
123 Salmons,John SAC

Strengths: Steals/fg%
Weaknesses: 3’s/blocks
Iverson is a solid thief, with 4 others above average, Harrington is the ony sub 45% shooter with Garnett, Boozer, Biedrins and even Miller all being well above average, if Iverson can remain around 45% this team will lead. No 3 point specialists in this team and only Garnett and Biedrins above average in blocks. The plus side is these 2 categories are the easiest to fix at the bottom end of the draft.
Favourite pick, Andre Miller with Brand in town could be pushing 1st tier assist numbers.
Rank 8

20 Wallace,Rasheed DET
27 Artest,Ron SAC
35 Allen,Ray BOS
42 Stojakovic,Peja NOR
50 Battier,Shane HOU
183 Noah,Joakim CHI

Well what can you say about this team? Feast and famine are the first two words that spring to mind.
Strengths – 3’s/Steals/blocks/TO’s
Weaknesses – Points/rebounds/assists/FG%/FT%
6 players who average more than 1.5 3 pointers per game, Artest and his steals, Camby and his blocks and only Artest averaging more than 2 TO’s per game. On the negative side 3 sub 10PPG scorers, ony Camby with more than 7 boards per game, no assist man at all and only Noah above 45% FG, FT% is low but is based on a very low shots per game and could easily be improved with a volume 80% scorer.
Favourite Pick – Artest easily worth a 4th round pick

Lets be honest, you are afraid of another beat down in the finals and starting the mind games even earlier this year ;)

Am I destined to come last now? ;)

Gotta say that its the first time I've made a team with FG%, FT% and 3PM as strengths. See how we go...
