The greatest Whitten Oval crowd ever. That was simply amazing today. I walked around the ground a bit earlier on as later the crowd just kept building, sat in the EJ Whitten Stand for a bit, got the Western Bulldogs Premiers 2016 book on my way in and took a photo with our premiership cup. Best day ever for me as Western Bulldogs supporter and I know Whitten Oval very well now. Will have to check out the Bulldogs museum and Bulldog shop in the future - just way too many people today to get any chance.

Was there with my Dad and he loved it as much as me.

He didn't go to the game, but went to the Footy Show, the parade and today and I'm happy for him and he's is for me.

Dad took me to the Western Oval on those freezing, bitter days in the early 90s and helped foster my love of this club.

He listened as I threw my little Walkman across the room in 1997 and had to put up with my foul teenage moods after a loss. Then as an adult, he had to hear me go on and on about 'we'll never win a bloody flag' year after year.

What a weekend, what a weekend.

Let's do it again in 2017.

Stop fainting or losing your children you gooses! It's holding the show up.
Was waiting to get my pic taken with the cup and the lady in front of me fainted. So we were all made to wait outside while medics handled it. Guess with it being so long, all the older fans were out and is a much longer day than they are probably used to.

I don't think that I got too many decent shots off today as some red headed giant moved into my viewing area and moving was going to be impossible. Fortunately as the crowd began to disperse my field of view cleared and the giant ****ed off, these two jokers came back out and posed one more time for the cameras assembled on the deck with their backs turned to the crowd. Not surprisingly Bob and Easton seemed more interested in playing to the assembled masses and I knew as soon as I saw it that I had what for me would be the money shot. Don't tell me premierships don't mean anything.

As an aside, as I was walking to the ground and was having a conversation with a fellow Bulldog supporter without really paying attention to who it was and as the conversation mostly about how ****ing windy it was. He began to ask me about my history of following the dogs (3rd Generation, dad grew up just off Roberts st. yadda..yadda). He then very casually mentioned that he'd played 100+ games for the club and stuck out his hand, it was only then that I took a proper look at who it was that I'd been talking to for the last 150 metres of so and said, "your name is Peter...Peter Foster, isn't it?" to which he replied "yes."

We then crossed over the railway bridge chatting all things bulldogs and what he'd been up to since its retiring. Its then that I couldn't help myself as I slipped into fanboy mode and I told him that as a kid he was one of my favourite players and I used to love watching his raking let footers and that he would've no doubt been kicking goals from CHB on a day like today, to which he said to his two slightly incredulous (grand?) kids "see!" What a great and quite humble guy, whose company I felt privileged to enjoy for a handful of minutes until we went our separate ways giving each other our best wishes.

All in all a very enjoyable day and a nice full stop to watching our great clubs stupendous season.

When he kicked the "goal" against the bombers at Windy Hill that clearly missed and then shook the goal umpires hand was one of the greatest things ever.

You should have told him that he was very under rated

Passed through Footscray and Williamstown today, was great seeing 70% of the people and houses wearing Bulldogs colors.

Also passed by the Williamstown cemetery and saw some Bulldog flags attached to a few graves. Was nice.

Would anyone know why they were handing out pennines? Have I missed the symbol behind this?

Very disappointing. The only reason I didn't go to Whitten oval on Sunday was because the boys were coming into town today. Pretty bloody annoying.

It is a bit, cos I've just dropped my car off for a service in Ballarat and the timing was just about perfect for me. Having said that when I saw the "closed until Tuesday" sign on the railway hotels front door yesterday I suspected that might be the place for a mad Monday celebration precluding a trip to the central highlands. I'll stop by anyways as l just can't get enough rah rah speeches from peter Gordon et al. right now.

Don't know, but he gave me a 1922 penny. TG we haven't been waiting for a flag for that long!

Had a wonderful 3 days in Melbourne, everyone seemed to be going around in a happy daze. Fantastic atmosphere at the parade, the game, and the WO, and even the weather cooperated (apart from the wind). Out of the 25,000 people at the family day I managed to bump into Larry6 :).

After the family day we went past our old school, Footscray West, and discovered the lolly shop of our childhood, which was next door to the school, is now a trendy little café so had some lunch there for old times' sake.
