Just my 2 cents. Having multiple teams is just stupid.

1. You have to do far more work, concentrating on diffferent players from each of your multiple teams. Wouldn't it be better to put all your focus on improving one team and making that the best possible?

2. Having multiple teams suggests you're either a) not good enough or b) not brave enough to play DT. If you're confident in your abilities, you only need one team to prove it.

3. Multiple teams is cheating.

If it gets your rocks off having more than one side then so be it, but honestly I (and I'm sure most other serious DT players) will use the one team and back it to do well.

Personally i've never entered two teams and I don't plan to either. I like to trust my judgement of my own team rather than make another just in case my first one doesn't work out.

It is a sin to enter two teams and the DT gods that be will curse your team with injuries and suspension if you do;)

Well all my sides will probaly end up above your side.

On what basis? Do you have the previous results to back this up?

Ha, thats already happended mate and many have fallen. Shows which people rely on bigfooty for their side (not to mention names);)

Look mate you've definitely improved with your posting on this forum but this was once you, like many starting Dream Teamers.

As for multiple teams, i would say 70% of bigfooty posters have more than one side and they have said, not going to name people.

I would estimate it that it is lower than 25%

Well then, bully for him.

Yes bully for me. I did put Trengove in mids to get my structure right. But this is still a problem monty. Because of a lack of validation, you could easily skew the numbers you post in your "Trends" blogs. I could make a team, opt in and select 30 players all of which are, i dont know a spud like Leigh Brown. Then when you do the lookup for trends, Leigh Brown is popular this off season.

'The Bully for him' should be about you wanting to have acurate database. Data validation is very simple to do before manipulating the database. Before you trade in the player, make sure he isn't already in that team, make sure that player can be in this position. Probably looking at 6-7 lines of php code. And protecting your database is something that would be in your best interest. With all these new sites coming (dt talk, footy tragic,DTRML,dreamteammanage etc) with more analysis, more blogs, updated content, the one thing fanfooty has is its database.

not having a go at you monty, just trying to help.

Actually chad, you are having a go at me. I think there's more to FF than its database.

I think you're the only weirdo who would pull that stunt.

I am not having a go Monty, i am providing feedback on a slight error that could help improve the database integrity, keep the site improving.

As a wise man once said "No matter if you run on love, commitment, hope or anger, you must keep running, if for no one else's sake but your own."

A word of advice to posters (pretty much common sense i think)

If a poster has already disputed/made a point regarding someone elses post...there is no need you repeating what he has just said. There have been 5 posts rubbishing DWD's 70% claim, i think he and most people got the idea

DWD needs more help than most.

A wise man is just about to say.

"Use the PM function"

To be honest, 99.9% of people would not attempt to do what you're suggesting. While I do understand your suggestion, maybe just send a quick PM to Monty next time, you may get better results.

m0nty knows deep down that 99.9% of us love the work he does and we greatly appreciate it mate so cheers for that.

Just one thing, when you register it tells you the salary cap ($7,962,500) and the DT talk boys had it in their blog aswell, any chance you could update the salary to the prescribed salary?

Thanks again mate.

Erm... that's what it is already, mate.

If those selection trends aren't accurate, I am going to throw a huge hissy fit. How will I pick my team if I don't know who everyone else has selected?

The maturity really shines through on this forum. Suggesting a 3 minute job to help fix up the database and everyone throws their arms up and has tantrums.

This is getting a bit out of hand. m0nty has chosen to go with a flexible choice whereby people can select what feature they prefer to use. If you want to have a salary cap restriction then don't use the new feature. If you want to use the new feature then you have the scope to vary your team without worrying about salary cap issues. You can do the what ifs.

Why worry about what the trend data shows. I understand that every new team contributes to the data and I sure as hell know that there are multiple teams skewing the data already so its not of great veracity anyway. If people are depending on this data to plan their teams then I don't rate their chances very highly.

Thank you m0nty for continuing to provide and upgrade a FREE leading edge tool for us DT fanatics.

There is probably 2 or 3 people in the whole world who would see this as a useful exercise. The numbers won't add up because who is going to sit there and make 10000 teams with Leigh Brown? Would be pretty sad if someone did something like that because no one really picks there team based on trends and if they do you would think logic would prevail.

Not a concern at all as from memory Monty usually only posts the most popular players, e.g Ablett Franklin etc and most people here would probably be able to accurately predict who those most popular players are.

Backs 3/4
Mids 2/4
Rucks 1/4
Forwards 1/4

How intriguing m0nty! Thou teaseth us. I will hazard a guess at Carazzo being the odd man out from the backs list. The popular mids would be Palmer and Martin,in the rucks Kreuzer line ball just in front of Tippett but both well behind Lobbe who isn't mentioned. And Trengove is my pick as the forward.

I'll put Davis in Carrazzo's place.

Ward and Cooney in the mids with no confidence.

There were only 2 rucks named so I'll leave Lobbe in place of Tippett.

Forwards I'll offer Pavlich,Dangerfield and Cunnington.

Actually, I was only counting starting players, not the benches, so Davis and Lobbe don't count.
