I hope the memory of him walking off the field burns in the gut of every single person involved in letting this football club down yesterday.

I agree.

That should be stuck all over the walls of the rooms.

Great career.

But, is he really a Champion per se?

The "Champion" tag gets thrown around alot.

He played 100 games for North.

And in terms of champion, it's not just what he did on the field. Leigh was one of the greatest club men we've had, just in terms of his attitude and commitment to North Melbourne.

What a champion player. It was sad to see him leave the game that way.I heard he told the players on saturday morning.I saw him never waiver in attacking the ball and he always put his body on the line.I hope that the younger players learnt by having him around.
Good luck in the future and i hope that u stay around the club and tutor the younger boys.

Is he really a champion? Is he really a champion? My god, what a silly question. He put his body on the line every week, put everything he had into our great club, his great club. He overcame the adversity of serious injuries to play his guts out for us every week, contributing largely in many of our wins. He did what had to be done on and off the field. He was a mentor to many young players at the club and a role model for all junior Roo supporters. He helped out people like Mare - Nepe at every chance and nothing was too much for him when it came to supporters. Makes him a bloody champion in my eyes.

My sentiments exactly. Colby was everything that the Shinboner spirit is supposed to be about. How many times did he run backwards into packs to mark or spoil or block for the team? That sort of courage alone made him a champion. But he was more than that, a fine footballer, read the play beautifully, led the defence by example, cool under pressure and never gave up. We are going to miss him.

Well done Colby on a magnificent career.

Thanx for the memories.

Putting your body on the line for North Melbourne.

Will never forget early this year at Arden street when Colby tapped me on the back, and asked what was wrong with me when I was limping, and I told him, and he said " Your moving as well as I am" I asked him how he was.
Shook his hands, and wished him all the best for the year.

Remember him from the family days always willing to chat and have photos.

Thankyou Leigh, A true Champion and Gentleman.

All the best with future endeavours
