Re: Farrer League

i stand corrected on mitch leaver than, i'm glad he is playing well, having played all my juniors against him, he always had talent, and i'm glad his coming through with the goods.
can anyone give me any updates on individuals that r in form in the farrer, whos improved, and who looks set to win the clear medal? any clubs brewing good juniors???

Re: Farrer League

Well said panjo, new little of young leaver until this years farrer competition. From what i have seen I would have him equal to better than each of those mentioned from Marrar, and I would say also the youngest of all them. bad break bad luck.

Phantom buddy always good to look at ladder position before crying poor. Rivcol one representative from no wins - marrar 2 representatives from 1 win fair enough I recon.
Re-read my post deeks I never cried poor never mentioned marrar. Just made the observation that The Rock had a lot of reps (nothing wrong with that) as the coach and a selector came from there (again nothing wrong with that) they are going to have a bit better knowledge of whos playing well as they see them every week. Again congrats to farrer boys played well and did the league proud.

Yes it sounds like the lads went well against their more fancied opponents from a "much higher" standard league. Hopefully some of the more narrow minded posters who constantly put shit on this league and it's players wake up to themselves a bit. I feel my original comments that explained that there isn't a hell of a lot of difference between the two comps have been somewhat vindecated.... Having played both comps it continuely amazes me that blokes playing in the RFL will think the farrer is well below the RFL when it simply isn't. On the hume league being a powerhouse of this years carnival?? - obviously not the case in 08 but it seems like its a healthy comp at the moment. peace out

Re: Farrer League

Because he plays for the rock moist thats why. Quite a few interesting selections I thought. Anyway the farrer boys did themselves and the league proud. Saw quite a few worried looks on the faces of the RFL heirachy half way through the last quarter. Th RFL big heads didnt get everything their own way like they thought.:)

Sounds a bit tongue in cheek there Phantom - though there were quite a few pies named. stil like the concept of the under 25s??? for Farrer V RFL.

Does that mean you have a Fevola like clause in your contract Chewy:D
Does this also mean you enjoy urinating in clubs and wrestling Irishmen?

shit!! you dont realise how close you are to the mark with that post bluey:). For a minute there I thought you might have some spies down here in the rat running some kind of chewy surveilance!! Then I remembered the fevalation and what he got up too. Phew :D. After the news reports this week I think it's safe to say we would all be classed as "binge drinkers" as more than 4 beers in one session is classed as a binge - god help us

Nathan McDonald would be the obvious pick for the Clear Medal but the 5 games Ive seen Dave Pieper would have to be right up their if he hasn't given the umpies to much of a hard time....From what Ive heard he gives em a spray, other than that young Ned Mortimer is playing ok and Gowie seems to get votes when him and minnie play together.

Re: Farrer League

Has anyone else heard the rumour that Osborne, Lockhart and possibly Colli will be tranferred to the Farrar league next season? Makes sense for both leagues in terms of geography and number of sides. Farrar would go up to 9 and Hume be back to the reasonable figure of 12.:thumbsu:

No unless the gullie is crippled by injury the rock wouldnt have a hope

Re: Farrer League

Yes da gully would be the obvious fav's, just like the brown bombers back in 2001 when the all crushing piggies (led by none other than Mattthhheew Carroll) won the premiership. CTFP.

CARN the Pies

Re: Farrer League

It will be funny but when gullie go undeafeted all year then lose in the grand final to TRYC!!

Yes dont ever underestimate the coaching prowess of one Matthew Carroll has plenty of tricks still up the sleeve id imagine.....;) I'll definately have to make the trip up for the GF - should be a classic if these two side get in. Id especially look forward to Matts post game address if the tiger pies happen to get up over the gullie lions. I recall the histeria of a full auditorium at the university eagerly awaiting the 2001 premiership coaches speech when we were hit with the now classic line "I spose I've been kissed on the dick a bit this year":D:D.... A great way to break the ice and get the crowd on side early if you ask me!!!!

Re: Farrer League

Ive heard marrar coach jarrod gornell to move due to work commitments, Shane Russell to get the chop Damien Brown to be sole coach, Hard Lennon Carroll all staying and unsure about piggies

Rumour has it that the piggies maybe looking for new coach (although they have two this year), maybe big wheels will take it on with pined his deputy.
