Any news on recruits for the hawks? all ive heard is who they have lost, would of thought after bowing out of the finals race in disappointing fashion last year they'd be looking to ramp things up this year.

With marrar losing so many i expected the hawks to be the rocks main danger, but it appears not??
I'll guess they will stay relatively the same minus the losses.

1. TYRC
2. CSU
3. Temora
4. Jets
5. EWK
6. Marrar
7. North
8. Colly

who have temora and jets gained for you to say they jump ahead of marrar EWK and nth wagga? temora have a coach that knowone knows anything about and josh hagar, jets a coach and 1 player but will lose a few with wheatley departing, nth wagga were a young side and havent really lost anyone so will only improve this year. CSU have gained a few players and are expected to improve but the uni has such a high turnover of players you dont know how many from last years side will be finishing uni and shipping off! agree with TRYC and colly and marrar

Who is the new temora coach?

Is the Ben Fixter that's signed at the bushpigs the ex AFl player Ben fixter?

That's the one. Not quite the same footballer he was when he was drafted but should be able to get a few kicks in the Farrer League you'd expect. CSU should be the big improver. Temora are trying to throw a bit of cash around I've hear but have only landed Hagar so far. Not sure of the coaches name.

I think East Wagga are relying on their strong Juniors coming through this year and have a couple of ex players returning apparently. CSU seem to be the only one who have really imroved their side from last year but it's only early days.

Not really sure about the Jets. You'd think Grintell would be able to snag a few recruits but haven't heard anything yet?

I dont think CSU will be the only improver, even though the rock boys brang home the flag in 2011 i think they will be a bit stonger with the signing of ex hopper Ryan chamberlin. Also has any1 heard anything of coly this year< obviously we all no that andrew mgowan will coach with brookers quick exit to coach narrandera, dont think mgowan will paly much footy because of his knees, other than that they have kids who are pretty ordinary and the pound brothers who are getting old.

if any one has heard any other news or whispers, please quote,as it is the silly season and it would be interesting to hear what people have heard. Cheers.

Fixter would have to be close to recruit of the decade if he keeps his head screwed on, Id be very interested to know his price tag.

wouldnt have been in coolamons top 5 players last year, could have been the game turner in the grand final if he could kick, missing 2 from the goal square will dent anyones confidence i guess though!

mark krueger is the name of the temora coach, came from south australia with good fottball resume

You obviously haven't seen much local footy of late puttputt? While Fixter should be a stand out for the bushpigs he is far from rucruit of the decade.... Just remember, Ricky O'loughlan was drafted into the AFL also. Wasn't exactly a stand out at Coolamon and from what I've heard he really struggled in the Ovens & Murray league.

Looks like East Wagga have signed a few, what type of player is Smallwood? will he be a star?

Yes your correct I never got to see coolamon play last year unfortunately as I spent most of my time watching north wagga games.
Either way any ex AFL player is a massive boost to the Farrer league & especially the bushpigs, best of luck to them.

Smallwood a good player. Was named in Lockharts best on numerous occasions in 2011. Kicks plenty of goals.Should do real well.

I could of swore he played end of the year for EWK.

If it is him I am think of, he is a small, fiery player that doesn't mind the biff.

From my source in Temora i have been told they are doing the opposite of throwing money around. They are not looking to bring recruits in, they want to take there time and build a squad to be successful for years to come... Have been hitting the track hard since novemeber with huge numbers, as the locals have been givin some confidence by the new coach.
Mark Kruger is his name, 27 year old playing coach, has coached 2 premierships in the last two years in SA. Also a league medallist and multiple b & f winner if my info is correct, cant tell ya what type of player or anything.....Will if i find out.
Ben fixter will obvisiouley be a handy pickup for the league aswell, if he can keep his on straight. Good luck to all sides out there this year.

did they have the juniors to build on though? cant say the standard in the under 17s is all that great and from memory it was their older heads carrying them last year and blackwell and ponting arent getting any younger, good luck to them though they are probably due to have a go at the top!

Under 17s had 2 good teams rest were shit, including Temora. They could barely get 15 players a week. Come finals time, Temora had 30 players vying for a spot. How does that work?

dropped some first grade players back? probably not 15 of them but would have been a couple! think there was a fair few that played both league and afl though so wouldnt be available every week!
