Armstrong named on the bench in the U16 AA team

View attachment 2056721
Date of Birth: 27/02/08; Height: 175cm
Versatile small player who excelled in various roles as a forward, midfielder and defender, with
his ability to win contested ball coming to the fore. Demonstrating his versatility, he adapted to
playing a lockdown and rebounding defender role on the opposition’s most dangerous small
forwards in games against Western Australia and South Australia after starring in a
forward/midfield role in the opening game. Finished the Championships with an average of 21.3
disposals (10 contested) and 3.3 tackles. As tough as nails, his team-first focus played an
important role in Victoria Country’s come-from-behind victory to win the title. Another to have
featured in the Flying Boomerangs program in 20

Was named best on for Vic Country both matches after switching to defence

Saw a 2026 ranking and Tanner Armstrong up to 13th. The AFL better not **** us on this one!
looks like he could be nippy little bull of a mid with elite kicking

Lockwood in the bests for the Pioneers again.

Looks like he played ruck again. 11 disposals, 1 mark, 4 tackles, 21 hitouts.
Watched his game, his athleticism is off the charts. Can mow blokes down, jump over and get decisive hit outs. Can't kick for shit 😂😂

I think he's a rookie tbh as not sure what his position will be.

Yeah thats what I was told.

He did completely shut down one of the Whitlock twins a month or two ago so obviously has key defender ability.

Wow 2026 is stacked. It’s hard to pre-empt given the draft is still 2 years away but how many would be considered first round prospects?

Yeah thats what I was told.

Could he become a poor mans Mac Andrew style defender?

String bean who is crazy athletic and tall. Mac obviously a great mark though and his kicking pretty good.

Walker & Armstrong but Walker ain't picking us. Leys gets tons of footy at SANFL 16s. Long way to go.

Agree put a line through Walker he’s set for Carlton, Armstrong looks good. Hopefully the others are closer to the pointy end than Pat Naish and MRJ were

Armstrong definitely could be and Jack Leys could be around the mark too.
Clark was at the champs so he is a watch.
Bowden didn't even make NT team so I doubt he gets drafted.

Wasn't sure where to put this but, as it's father-son related, might as well pop it here.

Former Tigers father-son selection Mark Pitura is coaching the QLD U15 Australian Football boy's squad in this year's School Sport Australia carnival.
