So are we doing this for AFLW players too, or would that be deemed outrageous & offensive ?
Its important we clarify so we treat everyone as equals.

You can't cry "equality" when its a biological difference that women naturally have much more body fat and much less muscle. This happens in puberty and is beyond anyone's control, I'm surprised you haven't noticed

I must have been smoking behind the school sheds when they taught that stuff.
Despite these biological facts and it being beyond anyone's control, how do you explain skinny women? Im facinated...

Skinny women still have more fat on their bodies than skinny men. Fat in normal women represents between 18% and 20% of body weight, whereas in men it represents only 10% to 15%.

Willie is certainly a lot better than he was, and, as you point out, he's currently covering the ground that he needs to in order to succeed. Same goes for McGovern. The key issue will be whether the club can keep them disciplined enough to not balloon. You can just tell by looking at them that they're one unsupervised buffet away from being shaped like a beanbag.
I think Rioli will be fine.

Super motivated and made big fitness gains and skin fold improvements each season.

McGovern beeds regular supervision. He was fitter a couple of seasons ago, but has had injuries.

AFL wasn't around then but check out SANFL and North Adelaide legend Grenville Dietrich. Leading goal kicker in the league more than once IIRC, decent effort when you look at the size of the shelter shed over the tools - he fat.

I'm involved in amateur sport and many of the women involved have low bodyfat. The ones who don't are the ones who eat bad food and drink a lot of alcohol (i.e. lifestyle decisions). Same rule applies to males. I find it strange that so many of the AFLW players are overweight - given they are associated with AFL clubs I'd be shocked if they don't have access to the club dietician, nutritional information etc. It's the elephant in the room - not gonna be any upside in a journo calling an overweight female out though. I think in ten year's time it's just as likely to be a rarity though.

True but your percentages are out of whack. Not many adult males at the football with 10% to 15% bodyfat. Same with females at 18% to 20%. Wouldn't shock if the mean adult male in Australia is sitting around 28% to be honest. Nation of fat people.

Aren't most AFLW players not professional footballers? If so, there's your answer....
