We've done Aussie movies, now what are your favourite Aussie books. My top five would be:

1. The Tree of Man - Patrick White
2. The True History of the Kelly Gang - Peter Carey
3. Monkey Grip - Helen Garner
4. Schindler's Ark - Thomas Keneally
5. April Fool's Day - Bryce Courtney

Can't say I get into Aussie authors much. I reckon high school put me off them. Why is high school English curriculum full of trite garbage like Ruth Park and Judith Wright?

The only good Aussie book which comes to mind is "Bliss" by Peter Carey.

Robert G Barett's books on Les Norton are a good read.

The Axis Trilogy by Sara Douglass is pretty good...I also enjoyed Southern Sky, Western Oval by Martin Flanagan.
