Agreed. Corny, rritating crud for the most part.
I'd nominate Kevin " Bloody ' Wilson's magificent " Hey Santa Claus " . Sums it up perfectly.

Although about 15 years ago there was one that twanged a few strings, " We Should Be Together " by Cliff Richard.
The opening line, ' coming home for Christmas, take a train, take a plane ' had a haunting pitch for me at the time with relatives in England and also living in Melbourne and desperately homesick for Adelaide.
But that's a oncer.
