Same as some of the others in this thread, my favourites at the time left, so I'm never having a favourite again (althought Viney would be a good favourite, I can never see him leaving.)

First it was Jeff Farmer, then Shane Woewodin, then Steve Armstrong, so I just gave up.

Still in ripping shape too - looks like he could still pull a Guernsey on

But for all the injuries... he was class and my favourite player at the time. Seems a trend that we Tingay fans migrated to the Ooze. Would be Jones now although he's not the thrilling player the other two were. Guess solid, hard-working and dependable is the new black when the club is a shambles.

The one injury

Supposedly sustained screwing his mrs in the shower, slipping and falling through the glass screen and cutting up the butt

Was listed on injury list as "buttocks" for a long time

Unfortunately Yze really dropped off in the last few years, and Tingay was cooked after his 'shower incident'. But my god they were good in their prime. I've got more respect for Jones than any Melbourne player I've ever seen but I do miss having players like that.

The combo of ooze, white and robbo couldn't see their time was up

White gets forgotten a bit he was a good player. I remember getting increasingly pissed at Bailey in Yze's last game when he left him on the bench for half the last quarter when the whole crowd wanted him on.

Sean wight, Todd Viney, Ox, all before they became real gun players, of the current crop it is Tappy, either I finally picked a dud, or he's gonna come on late. I do hope it is the latter.

Yeah, it was sad watching Yze's last few seasons in a way. A bloke who could make the footy talk ended up shanking every 2nd kick and struggled to send it more than 25 metres. Bit gutted he couldn't get to the 300 mark.

Every time I have a favourite player they leave. Allen Jakovich in 94. Jeff Farmer in 01, then Woewodin in 02, then Cale Morton last year :(..(Though I Garry Lyon from 95-99)

All players leave at some point. That's what happens. Until we perfect the cloning technology...

My first favorite player (that I can remember) was definitely Jeff White, Yze in a close 2nd - after those two it was James McDonald for a bit, now probably Mitch Clark.

My first favourite was Allan Jackovich, I had a huge man crush on Brock Mclean. Now I would say Mitch Clark and Col Garland.
