When I was a kid first watching that I missed a lot of the jokes in that scene, absolutely brilliant. 22 Short Films would be up there as one of my favourite episodes too, every scene is a beauty.

"Misuse of the cadavers" "I get here earlier when I drive in the carpool lane"

"Smithers, I'll get you to a hospital - the only way I know how."

I also love the episode where Bart has to testify at Freddy Quimby's trial.

Homer: Marge, it was horrible. Everyone was against me in that jury room. But I stood by the courage of my convictions and I prevailed. And that's why we had Chinese food for lunch.

I also feel that lady bouveis lover is a very underated episode. Another piece of simpsons gold

Lisa the vegetarian is an amazing ep. The food chain video, the flying pig and enough gazpacho for all.

One of my favourite of the new episodes would have to be "My Mother the Carjacker". Has some hilarious scenes:

Homer: I think the government has better things to do than to read my mail.
(cut to agents reading letters from a bag called 'Simpson Mail')
FBI Agent: Most people write letters to movie stars. This Simpson guy writes to movies. "Dear Die Hard. You rock. Especially when that guy was on the roof. P.S: Do you know Mad Max?"

(Homer crashes into the police station)
Chief Wiggum: All you destroyed were bricks, mortar, and attorneys!
Attorney: Remember me… as a drain on society!

Wiggum
: Alright, let's check it out. But if you're wrong, you and Lou have to kiss each other.
Lou: Hey Chief, I checked with the union and you can only do that once.

Hank Scorpio ep. is a classic

Hank: "Theres a place called Mary Ann's Hammocks. The good thing about that place is, Mary Ann gets in the hammock with you." Love that line, always has me in stitches

King-size Homer - season 7,episode 7

it's the episode where Homer purposely gains weight to avoid the power plants excerise program

That's my favourite too, as Homer:

1. Shamelessly pleads to be excused from the company exercise programme.
2. Attempts to be injured in an industrial accident
3. Gains inspiration from an imaginary pig with an upper class British accent to gain weight.
4. Is conned by a smooth talking clothing salesman into buying and wearing a hideous flowery mumu
5. Justifies his weight gain in an argument with Marge, saying that he had been a failiure all his life because he had been an obese man trapped in an overweight man's body.
6. Looks for the "ANY" key on his computer, tries to order a "TAB" while he waits, then triples his productivity by typing Y rather than Yes.
7. Is decieved into going into the kitchen when told there is a cake in there; after another discussion with Marge he still believes there is a cake.
8. Goes to the movies, and argues with a patronising cinema manager when refused admission due to his size.
9. Has a mechanical bird type "Y" while he is out, then strangles it in rage (like with Bart) when it breaks down.
10. Comandeers an icecream van to drive to the nuclear power plant to prevent an explosion.

I also liked Ralph's attempt to tease Lisa - "I heard your Dad went into a restraunt, and ate all the food in the restraunt, and they had to close the restraunt".

'Bart's Comet' ep is a good one.

I always laugh at the scene where Skinner trails off onto another tangent when telling Bart about the first time he discovered a comet.

"I got back at him though, him and that little boy of his" ROFL :D

'A streetcar named Marge' ****ing brilliant ep.

I love the entire two scenes when the family is discussing the content of the play over dinner and when Marge, Lisa and Bart are talking in different accents, especially laugh at the Clockwork Orange reference :D

Never really liked a streetcar named marge

Last exit to Springfield was probably their masterpiece, when they really were top of their game. It was just a great story, Homer was a dope but a nice guy still, Lisa was great, the unity of the power plant workers, mr burns inspired by Dr Zeuss, it was just brilliant, so thats obviously right up there for me

I've always loved the B-Sharps episode, I think my favourite episodes tend to be the old Homer-centred ones, when he was a great (if stupid) character, rather than an idiotic jerk. The other 3 to round out the top 5 are probably Homer Badman, The Last Temptation of Homer and the Beer Baron ep. You Only Move Twice, Cape Feare, Lemon Of Troy, Homer at the Bat, Flaming Moes, new Kid on the Block etc are all good. Season 2-8 or 9 were just about 95% hit.
I also like some of the more moving eps of the simpsons, 'And Maggie makes 3" is a great ep, as is Barts Dog gets an F

The most recent ep i really liked was behind the laughter and that was some 7 years ago

Marge vs the Monorail

Quimby: And may I introduce, Leonard Nimoy
Nimoy: Thank you. I bet this vessel could do Warp 5.
Quimby: Thank you, and may I say, may the, uh, force be with you
Nimoy: Do you even know who I am?
Quimby: I think I do. Weren't you one of the Little Rascals?

"Duffless" still stands the test of time for me.
Duffless has always been my favourite. Like all of their earlier classics there's plenty of depth in the storyline. There's two equally prominent main stories with Homer trying to give up beer under sufferance and Lisa trying to embarrass Bart in the science fair project.

My highlights:

- Bart's dream about the science fair. Krabappel: "Can't...stop...doing...the monkey."

- Lisa's daydream about her massive tomato feeding the world. "More tomato?" "Yes please."

- One of the best conversations Homer ever had with his brain when he accidentally skipped a beat and said out loud what his brain was supposed to say. "Well, off to the plant...Then to the Duff Brewery." "Oh oh. Did I just say that or think it?"

- "If the plant ye wish to flee, go to Sector 7B."
"To overcome the spiders curse, simply quote a bible verse...Thou...shalt not... *picks up a rock and drills the spider* Meanwhile Barney is outside with a mattress on the roof of the car. "Hey! That looks like Princess Di! Oh wait...it's just a pile of rags."

- Bart throwing the giant tomato at Skinner and his Three Stooges reference just before it. "Why shoitantly. Nyuk nyuk nyuk."

I'm only a few minutes into the episode, but there is way more! :D

Homer goes to college

DID YOU SEE THAT JERK? HE DROPPED HIS NOTES!!

nerds conspiring - 'we have to push him out of the way in exactly 3 seconds'
'should we account for wind resistance?'
'hmm, possibly. What do you think?'
THUD

'.....oh my.'

'I don't need my high school diploma anymore! *sets alight*'

'Hello, Dean? You are a stupid head'

'Mr simpson, we all have nose bleeds'

'We need the outlet for our rock tumber'
'PLUG IT IN PLUG IT IN'
'What, the rock tumbler, or the TV'
'THE TV THE TV'

etc etc.

My favourite is probably the 300 pound Homer one.

Wiggum: Alright, let's check it out. But if you're wrong, you and Lou have to kiss each other.
Lou: Hey Chief, I checked with the union and you can only do that once.

You are humoured very easily.

Lisa the vegetarian is an amazing ep. The food chain video, the flying pig and enough gazpacho for all.

Yep - good ep. Love this quote from that one:

Homer: Marge, Since I'm not talking to Lisa, would you please ask her to pass
me the syrup?
Marge: Dear, please pass your father the syrup, Lisa.
Lisa: Bart, tell Dad I will only pass the syrup if it won't be used on any meat product.
Bart: You dunkin' your sausages in that syrup homeboy?
Homer: Marge, tell Bart I just want to drink a nice glass of syrup like I do every morning.
Marge: Tell him yourself, you're ignoring Lisa, not Bart.
Homer: Bart, thank your mother for pointing that out.
Marge: Homer, you're not not-talking to me and secondly I heard what you said.
Homer: Lisa, tell your mother to get off my case.
Bart: Uhhh, dad, Lisa's the one you're not talking to.
Homer: Bart, go to your room.
Lisa: Why don't you just eat him, Dad?
Homer: I don't need any serving suggestions from you! You barbeque-wrecking, know-nothing know-it-all!
Lisa: That's IT! I can't live in a house with this prehistoric carnivore. I am out of here!
Homer: That's it! Go to your room!

My top 5

1. Selma's Choice
2. Rosebud
3. The PTA Disbands
4. Last Exit to Springfield
5. Cape Feare

There's heaps more, but for me these are the best they produced of the golden age.
