THE Brisbane Lions' bid for Brendan Fevola is on the brink of collapse.

The proposed deal with Carlton is in danger of being sabotaged by Michael Rischitelli's reluctance to join the Blues.

The two clubs hoped to exchange Fevola for Daniel Bradshaw and Rischitelli, but Rischitelli is believed determined to continue as a Brisbane player, despite heavy courting by Carlton officials in Melbourne yesterday.

A Brisbane official said last night: "The deal's off.”

Barring a change of mind overnight by Rischitelli, Fevola's choices now seem confined to a late bid from Sydney Swans, or a return to Visy Park.

Geez.
Will he go to the Harbor Bridge now?

Well since, hearsay, Judd and Gibbs have vowed never to play with Fev again, perhaps we can trade

  • Judd to WCE for Kennedy and the Eagles' first 2 picks
  • Gibbs to Melbourne for pick 1

Obviously Rischitelli doesn't think he'll get a game in Carlton's midfield.
Or he doesn't like the Melbourne weather.

Brisbane won't just give up though...they'll offer some other player instead (maybe Hooper?) or more draft picks to try and satisfy Carlton.

The question now is whether it opens the door for Sydney to make an offer more attractive than Bradshaw + whatever.

Rischitelli realised he wasn't getting a game in Carltons midfield.

Bradshaw was keen because he would be the number 1 forward.

Probably. A KP forward with service from the Blues midfield is about as good as it gets. Breaking into that midfield rotation is not exactly easy. Did feel sorry for the guy. He was clearly shell-shocked over this circus. :)

this is getting beyond embarrassing, fev you ****ing idiot, what a ****ing circus, less than a bloody day and sydney could be a suitor? this is going nowhere

Makes no sense as to why Risch came down to Melbourne really, obviously the Blues have a cracker of a midfield and he would've known that.

This article seems dodgy to me:

Firstly it refers to today as yesterday and tonight as last night, therefore i presume it is intended for tomorrow's paper but if it is breaking news surely the author would of corrected this.

Secondly it is reported by the Herald Sun which i never trust

Thirdly it quotes "a Brisbane Official" for whom all we know could be Voss, a director, the physio, the cable guy or the accountant

Fourthly it doesn't quote Rischitelli but makes the assumption he doesn't want to go

I'm getting sick of your constant 'negativity'

They would be more fans happier then not, if Fev stayed at Carlton ...

Stop having the arrogance to assume your talking on behalf of the majority of the Carlton supporters.
No but if these things are true and you framed the question?

Would you like to keep Fev for the rest of his career even if it meant Gibbs, Murphy and Judd asked to be traded?

Do you think you would be in a majority if you said yes?

Stop being simplistic.
