Last time they met:
Fremantle 18.15 (123) def. Richmond 15.12 (102) at Subiaco, Round 11 2007.

After seeing his side slump to a 26-point second term deficit, Des Headland produced one of the best displays of his Freo career, kicking five goals, including three in a pivotal third term to take the Dockers to an unconvincing 21-point win.

Nail in the coffin: Des Headland was at his best with five majors.

Betting:
Fremantle $1.30, Richmond $3.45.

Top of the table Dockers crawl over the line as gallant Tigers fall just short
by Alistair Sidebottom - Sunday, May 25 2008

Fremantle have only just beaten Richmond at the MCG today, surviving a scare in which Richmond led nearly all day to be run over in the dying minutes by 23 points. Heath Black starred for the Dockers with 26 possesions but Brett Deledio’s solo effort of 41 possesions, 10 marks and two goals symbolised the Tigers’ effort today. Deledio could’ve had five or six goals though, kicking five behinds to go with his two goals.

The young Tigers seemed to just run out of legs, conceding five goals in the last five minutes of the game and it was Matthew Pavlich who capitalised, booting three of them. Pavlich had been kept very quiet by Richmond youngster Will Thursfield but the delivery late in the final term was too good and too frequent for Thursfield to finish the day on top. For the Tigers, Patrick Bowden was the leading goalkicker with three.

The Tigers really struggled with leadership in the last quarter when Joel Bowden went off with a corked thigh, adding to the injury list that contains Matthew Richardson, Nathan Brown, Darren Jolly and Graham Polak.

Richmond.....3.4........6.8........9.12.......10.14 (74)
Fremantle....3.1........6.4..........9.6.......14.13 (97)

Best:
Richmond: Deledio, J.Bowden, King, Raines, J.Bowden, P.Bowden.

Injuries:

Last time they met: Brisbane 10.13 (73) drew with Richmond 10.13 (73) at Telstra Dome, Round 10 2007
Richmond booted the only two goals of the last quarter and then had the last few attacking thrusts in the game but could not break the deadlock.
Kayne Pettifer's goal with less than two minutes levelled the scores at 73 and they remained that way despite some agonisingly close plays
in the final frantic seconds. Nathan Foley and Jed Adcock were best on ground for their respective sides.

Anything but that: Both sides are dejected after their draw last year.

Betting:
Brisbane $1.55, Richmond $2.80

Tigers bully Lions
by Geraint Strauss - Sunday, June 1 2008

Richmond have shot up to 11th place on the AFL ladder by belting the Brisbane Lions by 135 points in their heritage round clash today at the MCG. It was a game that seemed reminiscent of Fitzroy’s last game here against the Tigers in 1996 as the Lions, donning the Roys strip the didn’t give a whimper as the Tigers thumped them 29.12 (186) to 6.15 (51).

The opening half was bad enough for the Lions with Richmond booting ten goals to five, but the second half consisting of nineteen Richmond goals with eleven between Troy Simmonds and Jack Riewoldt made the poor old Lions wish they were somewhere else.

Without stars Nathan Brown, Matthew Richardson, Graham Polak and Darren Jolly the Tigers didn’t take a step back in their demolition of the Lions. Joel Bowden racked up 33 touches, Kayne Pettifer had 25 and two goals and Chris Hyde chimed in with 24 possesions and three majors. For Brisbane Luke Power and Jonathan Brown were the only ones to show something, Power kicking three and racking up 32 disposals while Brown booted the other three. Simon Black was the only Brisbane player other than Power to register over twenty touches with 23.

Richmond.........k...5.1........10.3........20.5.......29.12 (186)
Brisbane...............3.5......k..5.10........5.12.......6.15 (51)

Best:
Richmond: J.Bowden, Pettifer, Riewoldt, Hyde, Raines, Deledio, Simmonds.
Brisbane: Power, Brown, Black.

Goals:
Richmond: Riewoldt 6, Simmonds 5, Hyde 3, Tivendale 2, Tuck 2, P.Bowden 2, Coughlan 2, Tambling 2, Pettifer 2, McGuane, Johnson, Schulz.
Brisbane: Power 3, Brown 3.

Injuries:
Richmond: Tambling (groin)

Appaling: The Brisbane Lions walk off the MCG, disgusted at their performance today.

Last time they met: Richmond 18.8 (116) def. Collingwood 14.12 (96) at the MCG, Round 19 2007
Richmond secured it's second win for the season and dealt Collingwood's top-four aspirations a huge
blow with a stirring 20-point victory at the MCG in round 19 last year. Brett Deledio produced a mighty
game across half-forward for five goals, while Nathan Foley was already the clearance king before he
charged out of the centre early in the last quarter and dobbed what proved the sealing goal.

13392.jpg

Game Over: Nathan Foley celebrates his sealer in front of 49,550 screaming Tiger fans.

Betting:
Collingwood $1.70, Richmond $2.20
