Re: FFGenie 2010.1

Grim, is there a way to download the app and run it locally without having to launch it each time? for use primarily when your offline? You used to be able to download it manually from the site.
Google ffgenie 2011 and you will find the relevant sourceforge link.

Also I am having some issues with some players not being updated with there scores, ie Curnow and Libba, probably others too but they are the once I noticed for obvious reasons.

Looking at the issue further, it seems that a certain percentage stats are not being updated when during the data scrape. It seems to affect random players but does so consistently, ie no matter how many times I redo the scrape, the same players do not get updated.

Re: FFGenie 2010.1

Had no issue with Curnow or Libba, have both rounds of data in although Jack Riewoldt is greyed out as if he didn't play due to his 0 on the weekend.

Did you update all at once or did you scrape just the most recent round each time?

Re: FFGenie 2010.1

Scraped the most recent.

The players I am not getting stats for is:

Yarran
Suckling
Tapscott
Foley
Liberatore
Darling

Previously this list include Krakoeur Swan and Curnow.

I have stats for all other players (even selection stats for players that haven't played).

Having the same issue from multiple installations on different PC's.

You have Grimlock on the case now, so shouldn't be long before he can help you out.

Some extra info for you Grimlock....I just did a Data Scrape using "Update Last" and it got everyone's scores no problem. I'm using the downloaded version from sourceforge, 2011.3

Re: FFGenie 2010.1

I've tried it multiple times now and it works okay. Perhaps there is something wrong with the file you start with? How about starting a new file, use Import stats From Website before doing the data scrape?

Or is there more you can tell me?

Import stats from website followed by a scrape of the most recent round works :thumbsu:

The "Update All" option is the one that returns missing data and is still not working correctly. Interestingly the data that it misses seems to change each time and the players it misses are always highly fantasy relevant.

When I do this everyone who hasn't played has 1 game played and players from the Rd 1 have 2 games played with only Rd 1 scores allocated. Players from Rd 2 only have no stats.

Re: FFGenie 2010.1

One glitch that I have noticed is that J.Brown has a breakeven of 252, despite not playing on the weekend (meaning that he shouldn't have a breakeven at this stage).

On the other hand, J.Riewoldt's 0 doesn't seem to have been counted as an actual score and therefore he doesn't have a breakeven.

It's strange that the program has differentiated Brown's 0 one way and Riewoldt's the other!

Re: FFGenie 2010.1

Hey Grim, first off, love the program and thanks again for having it up again for this season.:thumbsu:

Anyways, what I came on here to post about, J.Riewoldt's zero hasn't actually counted as a score and more as if he didn't play, is there a way to fix that to get his real breakeven and such?

Thanks in advanced.

Re: FFGenie 2010.1

Also in case anyone is wondering, I donated 10 bucks last week, anyone else asking for bugs to be fixed might want to do something similar? Seems fair.

Re: FFGenie 2010.1

Jonathan Brown doesn't have a breakeven, if you used the Update All function which sounds like it has a bug int it, that could explain it. I've said many times not to use Update All but I guess no one listens. I can't really afford to test Update All as it takes so much download every time I put it through a testing cycle.

As for the Riewoldt problem I'm not sure. Both VS and hence FFGenie use 0 to represent both the occurrences of a player not playing and player actually scoring 0. So how am I meant to figure this out from scraping the site? It would have to be adjusted manually...

Yeah I thought that would be an issue which wouldn't have an easy fix. :(

Would it be possible to allow the user to edit the scores once we have downloaded them from your site/vs? We could then manually add the 0's for the rare occasion that once occurs so it counts (or change it to a 1 if the 0 does not work)?

Doesn't the site list the games played by each player? I'm looking for example at this page http://supercoach.heraldsun.com.au/player/604 and it lists that riewoldt has played 2 games rather than 1.

I know however that this would add some complexities to work out which weeks zero was counted if the same player were to miss a week at some stage also.
