Ah true, good call! I forgot they wore two different kits in 09-10. I always get messed up in my mind when I think about that time because they played two GFs in 2010.

In hindsight I think would have been a mistake.
All the game photos and footage would have the clash jumper, photos in the regular would have just been confusing - glad Richmond's are in the jumper of the day.

Did we ever see any photos of what the 2010 jumper with the GF patch on it?

They should wear it, though. Black doesn't contrast sufficiently with Bris' maroon.



Brisbane don't wear the Fitzroy jumper in Queensland. We've kept the game alive, Port can fu** off if they think they can push us out of our 3-peat jumper.

Not a chance, Brisbane stuffed up by finishing second, they should be in the Fitzroy jumper against Port.

And honestly, I didn't realise the Lions are the ones who kept the game alive, are they owned by the Queensland government? If so, that's even more reason to wear a red shirt.

Apart from this year you guys have worn your home with white shorts when versing us at the Gabba.

We only wear our red at AO due to the home and away sponsorship arrangement.

Just make it Maroon shorts vs black shorts. Problem solved

I get that it's a darker shade but it's essentially just red and that's what happens with Sydney and Gold Coast. Port's number panel provides sufficient contrast.

I can't remember where I read it, but I believe that Brisbane will always wear a maroon Guernsey for a grand final, even if they are the away team. It's good that we honour the fitzroy past, but Maroon is our primary colour and especially in Queensland it would be important to represent those colours.

Unfortunately while it's all well and good to come here and stamp your foot on the issue, ultimately it's up to the AFL. Of course the club can put a request in but usually the AFL say no.

If it comes to a Port vs Brisbane Grand Final, Port will be the home team and thus get first rights and dibs on home uniform. Brisbane may get told their Maroon with white shorts is ok, they may get told to wear the Red jumper with white shorts as per the regular season when you play away to us. Heck, we might get chucked in the white shorts like 2004.

But at the end of the day, the AFL decides it.

(Although to be fair, I'd be furious if for some reason we get chucked in our clash jumper)
