I suspect these guys have bought a bunch of three game memberships for the competing teams once they knew who were finals certainties.
In that case I can see them cancelling their memberships before the start of next season also, leaving them only having to pay $1 each up until now.

Pretty scummy.

It wouldn't be those ones, they are full season 2014 memberships and came very late.

IMO they would have bought the cheapest finals eligible membership for every side once they were a finals lock weeks ago (off memory sales only stopped a month ago)

Ahhh that makes more sense :thumbsu:

So now that MCC reserve, AFL reserve and all public seating is sold out. How many walk ins do we need from the AFL reserve and MCC reserve to get 95,000 there?

I reckon there should be NO walk up for AFL and MCC members in games like this. It would then be a 95,000 crowd. More demand for both AFL and MCC members than what they released as their reserve seating allocation. Now a lot of people may not risk it and instead watch it from home.
Afl reserve doesn't have a walk up option. All seats are sold.

By the looks of it, effectively all that is left for the game is 15,000 walk up seats in the MCC.

From the MCC twitter feed.

"There will be 15,000 seats available on Sunday on a walk-up basis. Gate 2 opens at 12.30pm."

Awesome so 85,000 tickets have been sold.

May be a silly question, but are those walk up seats for MCC members only? Or they missed out on their seats now and the general public can take the rest of the seats?

Walk up. If the MCC seats are empty they remain empty. And some will.

Ahh damn, that sucks. Still a great crowd so I can't complain too much. Just sucks that those seats are usually empty, there would be a lot of people that would pay good money for them for just the one game

They should make all mcc members reserve their seat for finals. No walk up shit

They are walk for MCC only... If reserved ticket sales in other parts of the MCC were poor then they would have possibly released some of these to the general public. That is not the case at this stage. Capacity will only be reached (> 85K) if the weather is at least fair and these seat are then sold.

I went again to Ticketek this morning again to get tickets for a different match, and I talked to the guy and he mentioned how many Richmond supporters were after tickets yesterday. When I went yesterday, the majority were Richmond supporters, but I mean, you don't really know who everyone in the queue supporters.

I think there will be a 70/30 split in our favour.

Yes it's all down to MCC walk ups now. Given that the biggest supporter bases of the MCC Members are Essendon, Melbourne and Collingwood, I doubt it would fill. Estimates on www.mcc.org.au are generally pretty accurate.

Haere Ra

AFL expected crowd is 85K. They are usually close within a couple of thousand.. They can not rely on MCC. Demetriou said ticket sales as of 6pm on Monday projected that there would be a crowd between 85 and 90K. I would think closer to 85K.

457 seats only - restricted viewing were available and a very limited number of Standing room to the general public. AFL members were expected to be sold out today. Up to the MCC...now.
