Noone forced you to start wearing a fully black guernsey, you created your own problem with Rich, Ess and StK.

Did PAFC never consider they might play finals some day? You're a good club, you should have considered it....
This argument could be used for any team... I mean how dare the Suns chose to wear a red guernsey, did they never consider they might play the Swans one day? Utter disgrace.

At the end of the day it is Port Adelaide's home game and Port Adelaide have a right to wear their home guernsey. There are no two ways about it. The double standards the AFL has for clash guernseys needs to be fixed.

On another note, would Richmond wearing yellow shorts fix the clash? Or would that impede too much on their 'tradition'?

Richmond in their clash guernsey and yellow shorts would do the job admirably IMO. I have no idea why they choose not to wear them

This is a putrid ruling. In a regular home and away game any home side should dictate the jumpers. But it's finals. Port were a better side, finished higher, and get the benefits of that. The gall of Richmond to not bring in a clash jumper and invoke situations like this is just so warped from the AFL – how can make the Crows wear white when they can't even make the Tiges wear any clash strip?

this is a joke this was in a home and away match last season what the hell is wrong with the afl!!

Richmond you were very lucky to make the 8 and now you flogs think you are the be all and end all of footy by wearing your home strip where ever u ferals go because your too lazy to make a proper clash jumper
Apparently that Richmond jumper is "inappropriate" for a finals match

Says who? Richmond? the AFL ? The Crows used their clash against the Hawks in 2012. If ever there was an "inappropriate" jumper for finals, that was it.

Clubs can adopt any strip they want for identity purposes, as long as it isn't a carbon copy of another's.

It's a competition administrator balls up, not an individual club's.

It smacks of arrogance
The arrogance lies with clubs who stuff around with their branding and then expect other clubs to change earlier designs. The worst example was Collingwood's newish black-based jumper forcing StK into a horrible white clash strip in their GF matches.

This applies to Coll and Port with anyone black, GC with Swans etc.

If a club wants to change their design, great, but no team with earlier branding should have to pay the price.

Port have worn a guernsey which is mostly black since their AFL debut. Even if they were still wearing the 'SBS' jumper, Richmond would still need to provide an adequate clash guernsey (by today's rules).

How dare Richmond force Essendon into a clash when they entered the competition in 19-whatever. (08 wasnt it?? although dont know if Richmond/Essendon rebranded since then)

By the way, to avoid being criticised, I am taking the pi$$

Actually the original Port Power strip had sufficient teal and a white back that it would be fine along with white shorts against Richmond in all black.

This is an absolute, motherf**king disgrace.

The AFL, and Richmond, are a joke. A J-O-K-E. I bet Kochie will more than happily rip into the AFL on this.

Port should borrow Norf's banner from a few years back:

"Our home game etc etc".

Seriously though, Richmond need a basic yellow reverse strip and a white strip to solve all potential clashes.

That's too logical, I hope you're not looking for a job at AFL house with that nonsense.
