Wow. If you believed the Swansooks who were posting on BF, you'd think Spud must have king-hit him behind play. Instead it's a pretty innocuous bump, and O'Keefe has gone down like Nick Riewoldt on a bad-hair day.

Why wouldn't the club challenge that when it had the chance?

Precedent was set when whatsisname didnt get rubbed out for the mulekick to the groin :p


Also: ROFL how did they book him for that? The footage was inconclusive (at absolute best) and it looks like a hip and shoulder, get over it sheesh.
 
so his been suspended for a bump? North should have said that Firrito accidentally bumped into him while running bc he had eyes only for where the footy was... Surprised we didn't fight the charge. Guessing collingwood would have

If hed fought it and lost I think he woulda got 2 weeks or something (125 for this incident 96.something carry over).

The way the MRP is at the moment its preferable that he cops it on the chin with his bad record. Rather than risking a second week off.

Swans board has a thread where the muppets are all whining about how Spud should have got 4 weeks for this.

No mention of how he got rubbed out for O'Keefe taking a Nickydive for a standard bump. No mention of how Goodes regularly gets away with anything short of murder. :rolleyes:

I have no problems with the suspension. It was way off the ball, unnecessary and I wouldn't want any of our players to cop that sort of treatment unpunished. Mind you, if it were Goodes it wouldn't have even been discussed.

Didn't his opponent have the ball in his hands, running towards Spud when he braced himself for the contact, effectively flattening the guy? Hardly "way off the ball" there utility. Or are you talking about the elbow to the 'nads? In that case, he was not only on the ball, but on the balls!
 
Really soft suspension that one. I don't think O'Keefe took a dive as there seemed to be a bit of force from Firrito and he wasn't prepared for it. But he probably stayed on the ground for longer to try and get a free. Did he even get a free for it? If not, how did it even come to the attention of the MRP?

I mean, it was unnecessary from Firrito, but definitely not enough to warrant a suspension.

No free, i think it was well behind play. The emergency umpire must have noticed it (or else Sydney reported it)
 
I guess Saturday's game shows where spud is at really. He is doing some stupidly undisciplined things at the minute, probably because he is frustrated at how he is playing. Elbowing Jetta, totally unnecessarily downing O'Keefe a mile off the ball and rearranging Jetta's nads. Just dumb crap really.

Not to mention the 50, which made a difficult shot a certain goal, and 'cost us the game' just as much as any blunder by Thomas, Hansen, Kennedy or Schmidt.
