Happy Thanksgiving! I shouted my AgedCare helper lunch at a Latin American restaurant today. I had a cubano sandwich and chips and she had two empanadas, one with chorizo and cheese and another with chili con carne. The chili con carne said "hot" and it certainly was to her, so i had half of it. We each had Mexican soft drinks.

Tonight I made a small turkey roast, boxed stuffing, gravy and cranberries with a caesar salad. I chose not to have the customary sweet potatoes since we have them here so often. I refuse to eat orange vegetables. I've kept my village dinner for lunch tomorrow.

I'm staying up tonight to watch a live Thanksgiving service from the Washington National Cathedral(Episcopal), starting at 2am. I'll sleep in tomorrow morning since I have nothing planned. It's nice being retired.

Watched Survivor and am now watching Below Deck Mediterranean. It's been a good day.

my missus is american and just cant get into thanksgiving or christmas here because its the middle of summer

she tried thanksgiving last year and this year said it just doesnt feel right

My cousin worked in Houston for a few years and when his family moved back to Melbourne they still continued to celebrate Thanksgiving. Not sure if they still do.

I went to Southland on Thursday but got there early so it wasn't too bad. After nearly 3 hours, finished up at Myer buying sunglasses where there was a long queue.

I had to buy a new hair straightener because my GHD broke down a couple of months back. My hairdresser recommended another brand which wasn't cheap so I waited for Black Friday sales. Last weekend it was $90 off but I got greedy and was hoping by Friday the deal would be better. Nope it instead decreased to $70 off with a free vanity mirror. Lucky I got an additional $10 off for signing up. It's so hard to know when to pull the trigger and go for it!
 
I've ordered most of my Christmas gifts from Amazon. I do hope to go to Woodgrove on the 17th with my AgedCare helper to have a look around and get two gifts. I only buy things for a few people.

Great Black Friday deals from Menulog and Doordash this weekend. Menulog had $10 off an order for today and a bonus of free delivery for 100 days. Doordash had free delivery for TWO YEARS if you're an Amazon Prime member, which I am. I guess 2025 will be the Year of Pizzas and restaurants I normally don't order from because of high delivery fees!

Yeah I just shop online mostly these days. Easier and often cheaper.
