Bought this back from Perth, looks a bit crap but is very comfortable.
I bought one very similar to that from Ikea when I moved to Perth in 1989, but mine was white. I also purchased a white sofa. Had them both for 11 years. Sold them when I moved back to the states in 2000. I had the most beautiful two bedroom villa unit in Como. The place I moved to in South Perth just down the road from Wesley College six months later was nice, too.

Our pasta this evening is squid ravioli in a lemon grass broth with goat cheese profiteroles, and I also have an arugula Caesar salad. For entrees this evening, I have swordfish meatloaf with onion marmalade, rare roasted partridge breast in raspberry coulis with a sorrel timbale.

..and grilled free range rabbit with herbed french fries. Our pasta tonight is a squid ravioli in a lemon grass broth, and the fish tonight is a grilled...

I was just thinking about our entrance into the new millennium 25 years ago tonight. Where were you when we entered Y2K?

Of course, I was at Crown Casino. I had met friends earlier in the Oak Room. There was a dress code that evening to eliminate the riff raff, so I was wearing a suit and tie. At the stroke of midnight, I was playing my favourite machine, Great White Sharks. I was stuffing money in to no end, hoping for a big jackpot that never eventuated. Alas. I then went outside to watch the fireworks and returned to the casino to stay all night, waiting to take the first train back to Box Hill at after 5am. I remember standing on the bridge to Flinders Street Station over the Yarra to watch the first sunrise of the new century. Can't believe it was a quarter of a century ago.

I was actually thinking about New Year 2000 just before reading this thread. We had family over at home so it was very tame.

In recent years we have been spending it at our holiday house. There are fireworks on the beach, (probably illegal), and we watch them on the balcony. Except tonight we couldn't see them from the balcony and had to go out onto the street because the neighbours have rebuilt and have blocked the view ☹.
