I remember the time well. My grandmother was buried a few days before and my aunt and cousins from California were in Chicago for the funeral. They were staying with my uncle and his family who lived right in the city near where riots broke out. My dad drove there to pick them up to stay with us in the suburbs 40km away. There were people sleeping all over the house. Good times... well, kind of.
