Fitzpatrick calls presidents meeting

I've been warming to Barratt over this saga. Many Journalists all of a sudden seem much more palatable when there are genuine stories to report rather than the crap they usually dish up to fill pages or air time.

Too many of the stories in the media are agenda driven and come across as mouth pieces for either the AFL or essendon depending on whose been leaking the info. I've found it very difficult to read articles that are a genuine description of the facts rather than feeling that I'm being told what someone wants me to read

Really poor form that Little wasn't at the meeting in person imo. He wanted this taken out of Vlads hands but yet is unable to front a meeting of his peers to explain why.

Well that Vlad Voodoo Doll isn't going to stab itself now is it?

Seriously go check it out....I'm actually embarrassed that I breathe the same air as these mindless sheep.

Poor Sam, after his usual rants he usually gets a standing ovation, tonight he had a bout 4 people clapping......then they stopped in embarrassment because no one else was joining in.

Not sure if i should laugh or feel sorry for sam/Essendon supporters, the delusion is at an all time high.

Is this serious?

Little didn't even show up to the presidents meeting?

So first Hird farks over Andy D, so Little decides to heck over every club?

Shows what lack of balls!! he and EFC have.

Even the Germans turned up to Paris in 1919 to face the conciquences.

The AFL will make sure to bent Essendon over and f@$k it ten fold. They will be screwed scrapping from the bottom of the barrel for the next 20 years.

He was there for half the meeting. He and Fitzpatrick left to let the other 17 presidents talk amongst themselves.

He was part of the first half via phone only. Didn't attend in person as confirmed by James Brayshaw on tfs

We most certainly got words to that effect. I think however it was "Well, I always believe in people".

Translated as "I always believe in my mates, especially those who have kicked a footy and I therefore worship unconditionally. Besides, hanging out at the Press Club with them makes me look cool and helps me ignore the reality of my age. Plus the perks of alcohol, drugs and women that come with that are pretty damn good too."

i can picture the 17 giving thumbs down

So, at the end of the meeting, the 17 other clubs have come out in support of the AFL and the AFL process.

What does that mean for Essendon? And has Essendon responded at all to this support from the other 17 teams?

It means Essendon will come out and say they are impartial to everything because of the public release of information and he will want an independant team of Hird-Brainwashed people (the looney doctor for example)

They will dispute all decisions made and say the other 17 clubs are out to get them via a sudden ambush

... at the end of the day, once the other 17 clubs don't like you, something is going to change at your club. I expect Little will cut Hird loose on Monday

I find it very hard for Essendon to hold their line and keep up with court action considering once it is all over and done with, the other 17 clubs will support any penalties that the AFL hand out.

I think the AFL clubs just want this resolved and would prefer it was done in house (the AFL) rather than going to court as that is what the AFL commission is there to do. No doubt they can see the damage it is doing to the game and also that Essendon do have a case to answer for embarking on such an experimental supplements program.

It needs to be heard by the Commission and penalties determined accordingly. Once the actual penalties are given then judgement can be made as to whether they are fair or otherwise. If Essendon believe they have been treated unfairly and haven't been afforded due process then take it to Court but not before.

Mind you it is not unreasonable for Essendon and the four charged to request additional time to prepare their defence of the charges even if it doesn't fit the AFL's timeline of getting a resolution before finals
