The helmet that Brad Ebert
and others have worn to mitigate concussion is quite inadequate.
If interaction with Universities is a club goal, then I would like to see that interaction be directed toward a practical and economical improvement in player safety by development of better head protection.
Not just a virtue signalling effort, as per this current interaction.
Something that benefits us.
This has potential practical benefits, not only in terms of keeping our best players on the field, but also mitigating legal action by players down the track. We know what concussion does, but there seems to be no practical input, other than to perform tests post incident. We know the risk, and it's on club(s) to generate a safe work space. If other clubs or the AFL dont do it, then we should lead.
