Our decade or more of terrible drafting.
Edit: Oh man, I just went back to check my facts on Blaine Blokeblurst who in my mind personifies this period of draft/list mismanagement, and I'm angry again.
The 2014 trade period and national draft is truly the nadir of Carlton as a football club. Check out our utter squandering of draft assets, wasting of picks... in a draft where if you completely randomized the 80-odd players drafted, we should have hit on a good player or two. By my count we've had a go of 11 (****ing ELEVEN) of the players taken in this draft, at a cost of god knows how many draft picks, and have got maybe 2.5 AFL players out of it. Who, by the way, are not ones we drafted, but ones we had to buy off someone else. Meanwhile, the list of current day stars pulled early and late in this draft is extensive.
I need a lie down.
Second Edit: nothing personal against Blaine. Kudos to anyone who makes it to the top level, even for 1 game. Not his fault we were a rabble.
