shc do give scholarships, academic ones.. this year the male recipitant is a boarder who does not play football... but i am genuinly interested in wat schools in sa mainly do give sporting scholarships for any sports as well as footy..

PAC are starting a big trend. 3 new players signed this year with at least 1 signed last year.

Sts being what they are of course have to match them so they have started giving them out as well. I know for a fact though that you have to pretty gifted at something other than sport to get one though, so there are no guys that cant spell their names or anything.

RC give a few out as well, but if a team ever lacked depth, it is probably RC which i think is the main reason their 'gun' team filled with stars never quite got it together.

valid point straylan about rc never getting it together, however, i dont think they had a gun side, but had 5-10 very good players with the rest being average-to good. but as shc show every year, you must have depth and not rely on 5 players winning the match for you.

a pac od scholar gave the school $40K and told them to buy 3 players from the country. iq not important. they did and one was injured most the year, the other injured and had state duties and apparently the other was a dud. everyone knows who has recruited over the off season and its more mental than anything

Apparently Haileybury have recently given out up to 5 scholarships to players who played in the U/15's Vic Metro team. I reckon they might go alright in the near future if they keep this up.

PAC recruits last season:

Tom Holmes: 1st year u/16 state player, won best and fairest as year 10
Daniel May: 2nd year state u/16 player
BrendenPapps: Played state 16s last year, only played intercol this year due to shoulder injury
