What Wilson did was not just "doing her job". To say that is what she did is naive in the extreme. It was a premeditated character assassination, without any justification, and done because the AFL hierarchy wanted it done.
That isn't just "doing her job".

I have come to understand just what kind of people Wilson, Demetriou, McLauchlin and Fitzpatrick are, and so I almost expect the behaviour we got from them.
But the general public should be better than that. Their willingness to swallow what was being served up was an indictment of their mentality.

Was never a fan of the saga, never a fan of reading about my club in the media for all the wrong reasons every day and even less of a fan watching my fellow bombers argue -about- the media.

I think we can all agree that some journos are less respectable than others, just as I'm sure we can all agree they all have a job to do (albeit some perform controversially).

Hope Hird is feeling better soon and finds happiness in his life, negativity has lingered in his life for too long.
 
I'd also like to remind everyone that we still don't know what actually happened and the media, in their ever present rush to be first, is not always spot on when it comes to the finer details. Let's wait and see and let everyone else jump to conclusions. He's still alive and where there's life there's hope.
