Not for the sort of money Tasmania will be able to throw at him, given they can also just take him as an out of contract player, no trade, no fuss. All moved on from now though.
Carlton couldn't pay him the money we offered him and he still left

He wanted to go home

Adam Cerra huh......that's a name I haven't heard in a long time.
How about Lachie Weller, traded for pick 2??

On a side note, how Vic centric is the AFL?
They go on about how Jack Watts never lived up to pick 1 status for years, but Lockie Weller trade is barely mentioned again. (Basically because it was between Freo and Gold Coast - who they they deem as mostly irrelevant)

Most Victorians would just go "The **** is a Fremantle? Is that a real place?"

He was only pick 13 and at least he is solid. And he was never talked up like Watts.

GWS had 3 picks before him and got 7 games from them (and another 17 from Jack Steele who was picked later). Has to name another low profile story from that draft...

Despite us being a bigger club locally than around half the clubs in Victoria.

Without say Collingwood, Richmond, Hawthorn, Carlton and Essendon playing games against them in Melbourne regularly the other four Melbourne clubs would be folding within a season or two. Imagine Freo if our fans only showed up when we played West Coast - it isn’t different to that except there are more clubs in Victoria. It’s pathetic that Victorians still see footy as their sport when it hasn’t been just their sport for 120+ years.

The bias/ignorance of Victorians about us is a little annoying sometimes but I’m comfortable our club is sustainable without relying on others and that gives me some satisfaction.
