Just because it's not pay to win, doesn't mean it's not trying to sucker you out of money.
yes they try to 'sucker' you into buying skins that have no impact on the game, to help fund their free to play game.

Their skins are very expensive, if you don't want them there is absolutely no reason to buy them. They've given you are reason not to buy them by being purely cosmetic. You either wanted them or you have god awful self control. What you are basically proposing is that a game that is free to play should have no cosmetic items on offer which is just never going to happen because they have to make money somewhere.

What the **** are you on about? I haven't proposed anything.

And there's no justification for charging the amount they do for said cosmetic items.

Why does it need to be cheap? You don’t need the cosmetic stuff? Its simply an expensive add on for them to make profit. They justify it by the sales they get from it.

Value for money. At the moment, you can pay £8 for one skin. That's ridiculous. Your comment on the sales is proof that despite only being cosmetic, people still want these customisations. It's all well and good to say you don't have to buy them (and I agree, you don't) but clearly a lot of people don't have that restraint and EG are cashing in on it big time. "Free to play" but just about everyone has paid something for it (even if only for the battle passes).

I don't play it too often so i'm not actually not too bothered personally, I just find it amusing how everyone complained about the loot boxes in a single player game like Shadow of War, but charging through the nose for cosmetic items in this is fine.

It's the RyanAir of video games. You're fine if only want the very basics, anything more and it's a strain on the wallet.

You don't have to pay it. If you also can't tell the difference between paying for a cosmetic item and paying for one that helps you win than you're not very smart.

If you don't pay it the game still updates for you like anyone else.

Have you seen how much micro-transactions on mobile games can rip you for? People have spend 100K USD on a game like Star Wars: Galaxy Of Heroes. Standard rate for a new character is about $300-400 USD (if you arent willing to wait a few months for it to become farmable)

No problem here spending $9.99 USD for a battle pass to a game that i play every day. Not just that but getting a battle pass means you are likely to accumulate enough v-bucks from the challenges to get the battle pass for the next month. So its almost a 1-time cost.

Yes and also I am on same pro am team

I am impressed how you guys managed to win your only game played 3-0, must have been a lot of brilliant offense
I'll try and get you into to our next Pro-Am if you're on, you can witness the true beauty of five people all trying to cut at the same time.

Mate, you don't 'win' single player games. I'm not comparing pay to win to cosmetic only.

And no, you don't have to pay for them, just like you didn't have to in shadow of war. Doesn't mean they're not a means to cash grab.

Yeh and mobile games are bullshit too.

I have no problem with the battle pass, it's a few months worth of content for a reasonable price.

What do you mean, don't win single player games?

I have no issue with games doing cash grabs for something that is a free game for all to play, you don't even need to have a PS+ sub to play it. They continually update the game as well, they are a good company, happy to support with $15 to play the seasons.

Tried playing this a couple times and have no fking idea what I'm supposed to do. Looks like one of those games that's designed to sucker you into spending money on in-game items. No thanks.
Pretty sure a Google search will turn up a few guides on how to play. If you choose not to then that's your call.

Does Epic Games make coin on people buying outfits, emotes and other in-game items? Definitely.
Do these items give an in-game advantage? Nope.
Are Epic Games up-front about that? Yep.
Are people turning away from the game? Doesn't appear so.

You say "a lot of people don't have that restraint and EG are cashing in on it big time". Fortnite skins, etc. are like any commodity. People will waste their money on lots of things that many consider overpriced. EG have set a price they think enough people will pay for them to turn a good profit. If enough people refuse to pay it then the price drops. Welcome to capitalism!

I agree that the skins are overpriced. But what does that mean I do? I don't buy them.

Loot boxes in shadow of war weren't really pay to win, rather pay to finish quicker. You weren't getting an unfair advantage to win the game. You didn't have to pay for these lot boxes either, but people cracked the shits over them none the less while this gets a free ride.

As I said, the battle passes are perfectly reasonable, the cost of skins is not.

They are cosmetics, not p2w items. What is the issue? If 12 year olds want to go hard on their mums credit card and buy all skins they can go for it because it doesn't give them an advantage.

Demand will dictate prices, if no one was buying them, they would lower it.
